Manhunt In McDavid After Suspect Being Pursued By FWC Wrecks Truck

March 29, 2019

Multiple agencies were involved in a manhunt Friday in McDavid after a felony suspect being pursued by law enforcement wrecked his truck and fled on foot.

A Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) investigator spotted the suspect near Roach and Cox Roads Friday. The FWC investigator pursued the suspect, who missed a 90-degree curve on Holland Road and wrecked his pickup truck.

The truck hit a concrete porch that remained after a house was torn down years ago, barely missing an existing residence. A witness said the man, described only as a white male, ran from the truck toward a wooded area.  His name has not been released, but we’re told he is wanted on hunting-related charges and additional charges.

At last report late Friday night, the suspect was still on the run.

A shotgun was recovered from the pickup truck (pictured below).

FWC officers, a FWC air unit with a helicopter, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, and K-9 units from the Century and Santa Rosa correctional institutions were involved in the manhunt.

To Ridiculous: Are you serious? So law enforcement doing their jobs is a waste of resources? What is this person stole something from you? What if this person had harmed one of your family members? I bet you would be crying then. Or maybe you’re a criminal that is rooting for the bad guy. I’d bet that’s it.

To Ridiculous:: if this was close to your neck of the woods you would want all the agency’s around that were around there as well.

Is this suspect a serial killer or an international terrorist. If not why such a waste of resources, unless FWC has little else to do. Helicopter flew around for 5 hours went to refuel and returned. Officers in combat gear running around, other equipment everywhere. Did this fellow kill Florida’s last Unicorn or some other unspeakable crime. There is just one word for this display RIDICULOUS. Note: Based on the display of force presented by all the named agency’s listed in the article, the entire community of McDavid was surely in peril due to the threat of this DANGEROUS CRIMINAL

This is a couple of times that law enforcement has been chasing an unnamed, undescribed person in this area for an undisclosed crime. If someone is ‘on the loose’, we should be more informed so we can also be on the lookout. This attitude by our ‘protectors’ is unacceptable.

SW for more information. (A la David Green).
