Tomatoes At Twilight Workshop
The Escambia County Extension, Santa Rosa Extension and University of Florida/IFAS Extension will host a Tomatoes at Twilight workshop on Thursday, April 24, at the Santa Rosa Extension, 4253 Experiment Road, Highway 182 in Jay, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. The workshop is for farmers interested in learning about small farm tomato production. Topics will include general tomato production, water and nutrient management, disease control and more. Registration for the workshop is $10 per person. Atmore BBQ Lunches
Atmore Community Hospital will be selling BBQ sack lunches on Friday, April 25, starting at 10:30 a.m. Lunch includes BBQ sandwich, chips, snack cake and drink.

Century Sex Offender Awareness Car Wash
The Florida Council on Crime and Delinquency Chapter 6 and the Century Correctional Institution “B” Shift will host a car wash and community awareness training concerning sexual predators and sex offenders in our community on Satuday, April 25 from 10 a.m. until 2 to the Southern Panhandle Restaurant on Hwy 29 in Century.

Night of Nature
The Roy Hyatt Environmental Center’s Night of Nature will be Friday, April 25, 2014, from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to a fun-filled evening which includes night hikes led by Extension agents and master gardeners, telescopes for star gazing with the Escambia Amateur Astronomy Association, and Owls from the Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida. Bugs of the night for viewing. Hotdogs, chips, water, and soda will be available for a small donation.

Grace Fellowship Concert
Grace Fellowship Church in Atmore will hold a gospel concert featuring Lynda Randle as seen on the Gathier Homecoming Series and gospel country singer John Schmid on Saturday, April 26 at 7 p.m. Admission is free. An offering will be taken to benefit the prison ministry of We Care Program.

Spring Book Sale
Friends of West Florida Public Library will hold its Big Spring Book Sale and Silent Auction April 25-27, at the downtown Main Library at 239 N. Spring Street. On Friday, April 25, Friends of WFPL members get exclusive early access to the book sale from 3 – 5 p.m. Non-members can pay $5 admission to take part in preview day from 5 – 8 p.m. On Saturday, April 26, the book sale will be open from 9 a.m. to 5p.m., with free admission and reduced prices. Sunday is the final day of the book sale, with free admission and the popular $5 bag sale from noon to 3 p.m. Payment by cash or check is preferred. Berrydale Baptist Homecoming

Highland Baptist Golf Tourney
Highland Baptist Church Golf Tournament will be held starting at 12 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at the Cypress Lakes Golf Club. Shotgun start is at 1 p.m. Registration cost by or before April 25 is $50 per player or $36 for members of Cypress Lake Golf Club. After April 25, cost is $60 for non-members and $46 for members. Format will be four man scramble. Prizes will be awarded for top three teams, longest drive and closest to the pin contest. Mulligans will be available for purchase at $5 each with a max of two per player. Buffet style lunch will be provided by Archie’s Catering Services. Proceeds benefit the mission and ministries of Highland Baptist Church.

NWE Punt, Pass, Kick
NWE Youth football and cheer will hold a Punt, Pass, Kick, and Catch competition on Saturday, May 3, during Mayfest in Atmore at Tom Byrne Park. Entry fee is $5. Sign-up starts at 8 a.m. Competition begins at 9 a.m. Trophies will be given to the first place finisher of each age group. Century Sawmill Day
The 4th annual Sawmill Day and Car Show will be held Saturday, May 3, in Century. Registration for the car show is from 8:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., with awards presentation at 2 p.m. The fee is $25 and includes lunch for the driver. Craft vendors are welcome. No fee for booth space. Live music, dancers, free museum tours, food drinks and lots of family fun. The event will take place in the Historical Park at the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Fourth Street in Century.

Pine Barren Baptist Homecoming

Color Run For Denver
The Boys and Girls Club’s T.R.A.I.L. Program of the Poarch Creek Indians will hold a Color Run titled “Coloring For Denver” on Saturday, May 17, at 10 a.m. Cost is $20 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under with shirt included if registered by April 30. Race day registration begins at 9 a.m. and is $25 for adults and $20 for children. Baked good will also be available for purchase. All donations are appreciated.
