Jacky Tillman Cunningham
November 29, 2025
He loved me the most and I loved him the longest… but I truly know, I loved him the most . From the day he walked onto the Tate High School campus in the beginning of his tenth-grade year, until he entered the arms of Jesus the evening of November 26, 2025…I loved him the most.
Born in Clio Alabama, Jacky Tillman Cunningham entered this world on October 8, 1946, to the late James Edward Cunningham (“Ghe”) and the late Bernice Tillman lovingly known as (“Bu”). At the young age of 3, the family relocated to a rural town in North Florida named Molino, and here is where his legacy began.
Jacky, a young boy who wore a mischievous smile had a chest carrying around a heart of pure gold. He attended Molino elementary through the ninth grade. This era of Jacky’s life is the foundation that built his lifelong, strong work ethic as he served next to his family on the family farm in Molino growing crops and raising black angus cattle. Jacky attended Tate High School his tenth through twelfth grade year graduating in 1964. While Jacky attended Tate High School, he was an avid baseball player and was a part of the State championship team of 1962. Jacky was a loyal member of the Tate High School FFA program where he raised and showed steers for FFA and The Pensacola Interstate Fair. Jacky was also a member of the Molino 4-H Club and excelled in Tractor driving and Maintenance.
After graduation Jacky attended Gulf Coast Community College for 2 years via a baseball scholarship and where he received his AA degree.
Jacky was one of the founding members of the GCA-NRYO (Gulf Coast Agriculture and Natural Resources Youth Organization). His love for youth and teaching reflected and touched the lives of many children in this organization. He helped many children develop a love for cattle, a skill set of leadership and the art of showing cattle for competition. His joy was witnessing a steer raised by young hands being paraded through an arena showing the result of hard work and perseverance that ends at success.
Jacky retired after 46 years from Caraustar Industries and served an additional 2 years as a free lance consultant. Jacky was a member of Highland Baptist Church serving on the Personnel committee, but his favorite title was being known as the “Peanut Man” at many Falls Trunk or Treats. Jacky was a loyal member of the Board of Directors at Farm Bureau. Jacky had a love for traveling anywhere with his soul mate and together they covered many back roads while creating memories.
A kiss on the hand at prayer time and a soft good night, Jacky married his forever love Sharon Cunningham on September 9th, 1967. These high school sweethearts wrote a love story that allowed many years of remarkable “remember whens”.
Their blessings continued and the family expanded with two sons, Gregory James (Sabrena) and Leslie Andrew (Christina). His heart really began to swell as the family grew again, and he felt the joy of becoming a “Grand” to four wonderful grandchildren Ashley, Austin, Parker and Ethan.
Jacky was the epitome of a husband, father and Grand. \The world is not as bright as it was when his smile lit up our room, our hearts. The pride we all feel because God chose us to live a life with him and to be his family is one of our biggest blessings.
Jacky is preceded in death by his parents, brother Jimmy Cunningham and his wife Dorothy Cunningham.
Service will be officiated by Pastor Josh Helton.
Services are as follows:
Visitation will be on Tuesday December 2nd at Faith Chapel North from 5-7 p.m.
Funeral Service will be December 3rd at 11 a.m. with a one-hour visitation prior at 10 a.m. at Highland Baptist Church.
Pallbearers are Cliff Cheney, Scott Cunningham, Jack Livingston, Tommy Rowlen, Robert Kennedy, and Rusty Tanner. Honorary pallbearers are John Waters, David Webb, Mick Breault and Tyler Simmons.

Sharon, sorry to hear about Jacky. I was a member of the “Green Mansion” players from Gulf Coast and enjoyed visiting with him at our get togethers. He was a fine person and we’re going to miss him. My prayers are with you and your family. God Bless. Jim
Sharon: Saddened to learn of Jacky’s passing. As his teammate at Gulf Coast, we shared many baseball memories and had enjoyable conversations over the years to include his association with Don Sutton’s Family and Jacky’s ‘57 Chevy! Peace be with Jacky & the Family
Sharon, I am so sorry for the loss of Jacky. Just know that he is no longer suffering and he is in heaven, waiting on you. Lots of love and prayers for you and your family.
Jacky was my boss at Caraustar and he was the best boss I ever had. He and I had many laughs and some sorrows as we worked our jobs, but we were an incredible team and the memories of working with him will be with me my whole life. I thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for bringing him into my life. Jacky enjoy heaven, I will see you someday on the other side. Love You….Tom Romans 8:28
