Dell S. Trawick

November 29, 2025

Mrs. Dell S. Trawick, age 81, sadly passed away in Mobile, Alabama, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Originally from Brewton, Alabama, she lived in Pollard before moving to Nokomis, Alabama, where she had spent the last twenty-nine years of her life. Mrs. Trawick was a dedicated member of Moyeville Baptist Church, where she contributed to her community and shared her faith with those around her.

In the heart of her garden, she found joy as she tended to her colorful flower beds, nurturing each bloom with care. It’s a peaceful routine that reminded her of the days after graduating from Flomaton High School in 1963, when life was simple and filled with laughter. Spending time with family and friends was her greatest treasure, and she loved to bring them together around her kitchen table. As a cook, she took pride in crafting delicious meals, especially her famous dressing that everyone looks forward to at gatherings. Her adorable cats and their playful kittens bring even more warmth to her home, making every day feel like a cherished memory waiting to happen.

Lyda and Annie Mae Smith Byrd, along with her sister Doroth Bates, have preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Roy Preston (Jeannette) Moye, from Pollard, Alabama; her daughter, Amanda Michelle Moye, from Atmore, Alabama; brother, Lamar Byrd, also of Pollard, Alabama; her sister, Annie Laurie Phillips, of Jay, Florida; as well as seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, six nieces, one nephew, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Petty Funeral Homes, LLC, where Reverend Bill Stuckey will preside over the ceremony.

Following the service, burial will take place at Catawba Springs Cemetery. Prior to the service, visitation will be held that same day from 12:00 PM until the start of the service at 1:00 PM at Petty Funeral Homes, LLC.

The pallbearers will include Johnny Donnell, Skyler Donnell, Joshua Donnell, Randy Lambeth, and Skylar Pettis, Denise Presley, while Lamar Byrd and Titus Dean will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Arrangements are being handled by Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC in Atmore, Alabama.
