13 Additional COVID-19 Cases In Escambia County Monday

Thirteen additional COVID-19 cases were reported Monday in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties according to the Florida Department of Health.
The number of cases in Escambia County is at 828, and Santa Rosa County increased by two to 247.
Of the 33 deaths in Escambia County, 26 have been long-term care facility residents or staff. There have been eight deaths in Santa Rosa County, seven of those at the Blackwater River Correctional Facility and none in long-term care facilities.
Statewide, there were 56,830 cases including 55,415 Florida residents. There have been 10,231 hospitalizations and 2,460 deaths. The Florida Department of Health does not have a clear standard or definition of “recovered” and does not report a number of recovered individuals.

Free Food Giveaways Saturday In Century, Atmore, West Pensacola

Free food distributions will be held Saturday in Century, Atmore and West Pensacola.
Century
A drive-thru Farm Share food distribution will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. and continuing while supplies last at the Century Business Center at 130 East Pond Street. The giveaway is partnership between the Town of Century, Northwest Florida Community Outreach and Farm Share.
Atmore
There will be a 10,000 pound free food distribution Saturday at Rachel Patterson Elementary School in Atmore. It begins at 10 a.m. Enter off Craig Street and stay in your vehicle.
West Pensacola
A free drive-thru food giveaway in partnership with Feeding America will be held Saturday at West Pensacola Baptist Church from noon until 2 p.m. The church is located at 5213 West Jackson Street.

Escambia Records Three More COVID-19 Deaths; Santa Rosa Cases Jump By 28

Three more COVID-19 deaths were reported in Escambia County, while Santa Rosa County reported 28 new cases on Wednesday , according to the Florida Department of Health.
The deaths were a 100-year old female and two males both age 78. All three were residents of long-term care facilities.
The number of cases in Escambia County was up seven to 776, and with the 28 new cases Santa Rosa is at 237. At least five of the new Santa Rosa cases were prison inmates.
Of the 29 deaths in Escambia County, 22 have been long-term care facility residents or staff. There have been eight deaths in Santa Rosa County, seven of those at the Blackwater River Correctional Facility and none in long-term care facilities.
Statewide, there were 52,634 cases including 51,283 Florida residents. There have been 9,639 hospitalizations and 2,319 deaths.

10,000 Pounds Of Food To Be Given Away Wednesday In Walnut Hill

A 10,000 pound food giveaway will be held Wednesday in Walnut Hill.
Pensacola Caring Hearts and Justified Incarcerated Ministries has partnered with Feeding the Gulf Coast for the food distribution.
The food will be given away from 9 a.m. until noon, or as long as supplies last, at The House of Prayer at 54 North Cypress Street in Walnut Hill. Families will pick up their food while remaining in their vehicle, and social distancing rules will be followed.
“We are blessed to be able to help approximately 300 families who are in need,” said Pastor Reginald Benjamin. “As this pandemic continues, it continues to create stress and hopelessness on the families in our community. This is why we are excited to have this opportunity to help a community who has not receive any help during this pandemic free food distribution for this community.”
