Douglas Chastang

of Cantonment, Florida passed away on March 13, 2026. Doug was born on February 26, 1959.

He was born and grew up in Pensacola, Florida, where he attended Woodham High School. Doug was a graduate of the University of South Alabama. He dedicated over 30 years of service as an engineer at the Navy base, where he was respected for his hard work and dedication.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Lucille Chastang and Pelham Chastang.

He is survived by his daughters, Alonna Perry (Trevor) and Brittany Chastang (Brittany); his beloved grandchildren, Lillian Perry and Henry Perry; and his sisters, Carolyn Schmitz and Sylvia Davis.

Doug was a loving father, brother and grandfather. He especially loved spoiling his grandchildren and cherished the time he spent with them. He had a love for the outdoors and was known for his sense of humor and pulling pranks on friends and family. In his younger years he enjoyed golfing, riding dirt bikes, camping, hunting and simply being outside. He was also a devoted Alabama football fan.

Doug will be remembered for his humor, love of the outdoors, and the deep love he had for his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A short service will be held graveside on Thursday, March 19th at 10:00a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery. Immediately following will be a reception at Hillcrest Church, 9 Mile Road in the Northwest Hall.
