North Escambia List: Weather Cancellations, Closures

Here is a comprehensive list of weather closures, with an emphasis on the North Escambia area.

SCHOOLS
- Public schools in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties will be closed on Friday. Students will return on Tuesday, as Monday is a student holiday for Columbus Day.
- Public schools in Escambia County, Alabama, will be closed on Friday. Students will return Wednesday, October 14 after a previously scheduled fall break on Monday and Tuesday.
- All Pensacola State College locations will be closed on Friday and Saturday. This includes all classes, events, campus activities, and online courses. All classes, including online, are canceled beginning Thursday.
- Pensacola Christian Academy will be closed on Friday. This includes all classes, events and campus activities. Nonessential personnel, as defined by your division head, do not need to report to campus on Thursday, Oct. 8.
GOVERNMENT
- Escambia County offices will close Thursday, Oct. 8 starting at 2 p.m. and remain closed Friday, Oct. 9 due to Tropical Storm Isaias. Essential employees such as first responders and emergency response personnel will continue working throughout the storm. Animal Welfare will also be closed on Saturday.
UTILITIES
- The customer service department at ECUA will be closed Friday.
- Molino Utilities will be closed on Friday.
ECAT
- ECAT offices will close at 2 p.m. Thursday and remain closed on Friday.
- ECAT buses, FlexTransit, and the UWF trolleys will not run Thursday, Oct. 8, Friday, Oct. 9, or Saturday, Oct. 10.
- Transportation for dialysis, medical appointments, and other life-sustaining trips are being coordinated and rescheduled directly with each facility.
COMMUNITY
- The Thursday meeting of the Century Neighborhood Watch has been canceled.
- The 9th Annual Cantonment Arts & Crafts Festival at Pine Forest Assembly in Cantonment on Saturday has been postponed until October 24.
- The Century Lions Club has canceled its cross country run on Saturday. It has been rescheduled for November 7.
- A Reimagine food distribution and event at the Equestrian Center on Saturday has been canceled.
- The recreation sites at Bluff Springs, Cotton Lake, Mystic Springs, Williams Lake, Otto Hill, Keyser Landing, and Webb Landing are closed until further notice.
SPORTS
- All high school football games in Escambia County have been rescheduled for Thursday night. The West Florida High School game has been postponed to a later date TBA.
- Saturday’s home UWF game against Northwestern State has been canceled.
- A weekend tournament at the Molino Ballpark has been canceled. Organizers are working to reschedule the tournament.
- All Escambia River Conference games for this week have been canceled (including Century, Flomaton, Jay, Atmore).
- The NWE Chiefs Homecoming Walkout planned for Thursday will be postponed until Oct. 22. Saturday’s game between the Chiefs and Navarre Raiders has been canceled.
- The Pensacola Blue Wahoos have canceled Saturday’s fall baseball exhibition between the Florida State Seminoles and Auburn Tigers. It will not be rescheduled.
- All NEP games are canceled and activities suspended on Thursday, and games will be rescheduled.
- All Emerald Coast Youth Sports Alliance (ECYSA) games are canceled for Saturday and Sunday (including Cantonment Cowboys).
- The Southern Tip Off at the Pensacola Bay Center featuring Mississippi State versus Florida State has been canceled. Organizers are evaluating a possible reschedule date to be announced.
FIRST JUDICIAL COURTS – Escambia County
- Escambia County courthouses will close at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 8 and remain closed on Friday, October 9.
- Felony Arraignments scheduled for Friday, October 9 will be reset to Friday, October 16, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
- Civil Traffic Infraction Hearings scheduled on Friday, October 9 will be reset to Friday, October 23, 2026, at 9 a.m.
- First Appearances previously scheduled on Friday, October 9 at 10:30 a.m. will be heard Friday, October 9 at 8 a.m. at the Juvenile Justice Center.
- Pre-Trial Detention Hearings previously scheduled on Friday, October 9 at 11 a.m. will be heard Friday, October 9 at 9 a.m. at the Juvenile Justice Center.
- All other hearings will be reset by the assigned judge.
- The Office of the State Attorney, First Judicial Circuit will be closed
