Florida Drivers Get A Little Relief At The Pump, AAA Says

October 5, 2026

Florida drivers are finally seeing some relief at the gas pump after a sharp run-up in prices last month, according to AAA.. The state average has fallen 34 cents per gallon in the past nine days as oil prices retreated from recent highs. The decline is saving drivers roughly $5 to $7 per fill-up compared to prices seen just over a week ago.

Sunday’s state average of $4.08 per gallon is the lowest in nearly a month and 29 cents less than a week ago, 13 cents more than a month ago, and $1.03 more than last year.

The Pensacola market was the cheapest in the state at an average of $3.92 per gallon on Sunday with a low of $3.62 at stations on Nine Mile Road. In North Escambia, a low of $2.73 was available Sunday on Highway 29 in Cantonment.
