Freeze Warning Tonight North Of I-10

There is a freeze warning in effect for Friday night into Saturday morning for inland and central Escambia County, north of I-10.
According to the National Weather Service, residents should take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

- Escambia County Animal Welfare & Adoption Center closed Friday, open regular hours on Saturday
- Perdido Landfill is open Friday
- ECAT buses are on a normal Friday schedule
- The UWF Express Trolley resumes service Saturday, campus trolley service returns Monday
Town of Century
- All Town of Century offices and services are closed on Friday. There is not change to trash collection.
Emerald Coast Utilities Authority
- ECUA business offices are closed on Friday. All Friday residential sanitation, recycling and yard trash collections will take place on Saturday. There is no change for commercial customers.
Rep. Salzman (Dressed As Half Of A PB&J) Donates To Peanut Butter Challenge. You Can Too By Today.

Florida Rep. Michelle Salzman’s office collected almost 100 jars of peanut butter alongside the Girl Scouts for the annual UF/IFAS Extension Peanut Butter Challenge in Escambia County.
The Peanut Butter Challenge ends today. Unopened jars of peanut butter can be donated at the following locations through Wednesday, November 24:

- Escambia County Farm Bureau, 153 Highway 97, Molino
- Escambia County Public Safety, 6575 North W Street

Three Railroad Crossings Closed Near Canoe, Alabama

Three railroad crossings in the Canoe, Alabama, area are closed for maiintenance.
The crossings on Dugout Lane, Abrams Road and Sam Jones Road are closed just south of Highway 31, according to the Escambia County (AL) Sheriff’s Office. CSX reports that the crossings will be closed for the next one or two days.
