The final curtain call provided an opportunity to celebrate seniors as they took the Tate stage one final time, while recognizing several outstanding students with Legacy Awards for their leadership, service, and commitment to the performing arts.
Legacy Award Recipients were:
- Dorothy Lister “En Pointe” Award: Izzy Killebrew and Micah Frazier

Round To The Nearest Nickel: DeSantis Signs Gaetz Bill As Pennies Go Away
May 13, 2026
On Tuesday, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation that allows businesses to round up or down to the nearest nickel when people are paying with cash because pennies are no longer being made by the U.S. Mint. The bill was sponsored in the Florida Senate by Sen. Don Gaetz of Northwest Florida.
The new law took effect immediately and states that cash purchases will be rounded to the nearest nickel — those that end in 1 or 2 cents will be rounded down to zero, those ending in 3 or 4 cents will be rounded up to 5 cents. Those transactions that end in 6 or 7 cents will be rounded down to 5 cents, and those that end in 8 or 9 cents will be rounded up to 10 cents.
The rounding does not impact sales tax; it is applied to the final, after-tax, total. The legislation does not have any impact on people who are paying with debit or credit cards.

Miller Masterful As Wahoos Beat Lookouts 4-1
May 13, 2026
The Pensacola Blue Wahoos christened Chattanooga’s new Erlanger Park with a 4-1 win over the Lookouts on Tuesday night, riding a pair of homers and a quality start to victory over the team with the Southern League’s best record.
Jacob Miller (W, 1-2) turned in his best start of the season, scattering five hits and one run over 6.0 innings to earn his first win.
Dillon Lewis gave the Blue Wahoos an early 1-0 lead with a solo homer, his team-leading sixth of the season, in the second inning. Payton Green added a two-run shot in the fifth inning, and Fenwick Trimble singled home Brendan Jones in the sixth inning for a 4-0 advantage.
Miller surrendered a solo homer to Carlos Jorge in the sixth, but neither team could capitalize on ample opportunities in the late innings. Lookouts starter Johnathan Harmon (L, 3-1) worked around a leadoff Michael Snyder triple in the seventh, and Blue Wahoos relievers Kade Bragg and Logan Whitaker left the bases loaded with Lookouts runners in both the seventh and eighth. Luis Palacios (S, 1) inherited two baserunners in the ninth, but coaxed a game-ending double play grounder from Leo Balcazar to end the game.
The Blue Wahoos continue their series against the Lookouts on Wednesday morning.

May 13, 2026
Robert Leon Glick, age 84, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026. He was born on April 4, 1942, to Mahlon and Ruth Kennel Glick in Lancaster, PA.
Robert was a lifelong farmer and a member of Mennonite Christian Fellowship in Atmore, AL. He retired after over 63 years of farming. Robert always had a big garden, and since retirement, he spent many hours cultivating a lush garden in spite of the pain he often had from the work.
His great-grandchildren brought him much joy, and he found ways to connect with them. One memory with them was when he cracked a coconut for them to see what the inside looked like. He also loved cherry ice cream, Anna’s homemade fig jam, and other homemade goodies. He was an avid hunter and continued to hunt even at 83 years old. His family appreciated his attention to detail, and he taught us the value of hard work. He recently enjoyed the celebration of his 84th birthday with all of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren attending. He celebrated 63 years of marriage on May 4th. Robert’s life was a testament of faithful service to the Lord and his family.
Robert is survived by his wife, Anna Hostetter Glick; children, Regina Glick Kurtz (Ken), Doreen Glick Hess (Keith), Ruth Ann Glick Hornback, and Dwane Glick (Regina). He is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Glick Hostetter (John), ten grandchildren, Benjamin Hess (Kara), Chelsey Hess Holden (Scott), Michael Glick (Mallory), Alexis Kurtz Howell (Shaun), Jessica Glick Martin (Zach), Courtney Hornback McKinney (Keith), Ashlyn Glick Parker (Andrew), Bradley Hornback, Kaylie Glick, and Braden Glick. He has seventeen great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Melvin Glick.
Messages of condolence can be sent to the Glick family at 3035 Old Bratt Rd., Atmore, AL 36502.
The family requests memorial donations in Robert’s memory to Samaritan’s Purse in lieu of flowers.
