Sunrise Services, Egg Hunts And Many Other Area Easter Events Planned

Here are Easter weekend events schedules in the North Escambia area, including several sunrise services:
Easter Egg Hunt & Bunny Brunch In Bratt
An Easter Egg Hunt and Bunny Brunch will be Saturday, April 16 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Bratt Family Life Center. Children of all ages are invited; bring your own basket. Rain will move the event indoors.
Community Easter Egg Hunt
Gonzalez Baptist Church will hold a Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 16 at 10 a.m. for ages preschool to 5th grade. Golden egg super prizes and mini egg prizes in each age group.
1st Annual Beulah Dash
The 1st Annual Beulah Dash will be Saturday, April 16 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Escambia County Equestrian Center. Craft vendors, food trucks, inflatables, Easter egg hunts for children grade 5 and under and much more. Hosted by Marcus Pointe Baptist Church – Beulah.
Crown Church Eggstravaganza
Crown Church will host and Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 16 at 11 a.m. at 9600 North Palafox Street. Games, inflatables, coloring contest, door prizes, food, and over 10,000 candy filled eggs.
Egga-Wahooza Easter Egg Hunt
arcus Pointe Baptist Church will host the annual Egga-Wahooza Easter Egg Hunt in Community Maritime Park. Over 50,000 eggs. At 10:30 a.m., children ages 0-4 and children with special needs will participate in the first Easter egg hunt. At 11 a.m, a second Easter egg hunt will be held for children ages K4-5th grade. The event is free to attend.
Molino Community Easter EGGstravaganza
The Molino Community Easter EGGstravaganza will be held Saturday April 16 from 5 until 6:30 p.m. at the Molino Community Center, 6450 Hwy 95A North. Egg hunt, bounce house, shaved ice, games, hot dogs and more. Sponsored by Highland Baptist Church.
Community Sunrise Service – Molino
A Community Sunrise Service will be Sunday, April 17 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church on Highway 29 in Molino.
Community Sonrise Service – Wahoos Stadium
Community Sonrise Service will be Easter Sunday, April 17 at 6 a.m. at Blue Wahoos stadium in Pensacola.
Easter At Highland Baptist Molino
Highland Baptist Church will hold a church-wide breakfast at 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 17. Easter Worship will follow at 10:45 a.m.
Resurrection Sunday Worship- Gonzalez
Gonzalez Baptist Church will hold a Resurrection Sunda Worship Service on Sunday, April 17 at 10 a.m.
Beulah Chapel Easter Services
Belah Chapel Assembly of God in Byrneville will hold Easter morning services at 10:30 a.m.
Sunrise, Worship Service Atmore
The First Baptist Church of Atmore will host a Sunrise Serice at 6 a.m. on Sunday, April 17 with breakfast to follow. Easter worship service at 10:30 a.m.
Two Convicted, Sentenced To Life In Prison For Klondike Road Murder

Two men have been convicted and sentenced to life in prison for the October 3, 2020, murder of a man outside his Klondike Road home.
Samuel Young, 26, and Kentavious Oliver, 30, were both convicted of second degree murder.
Kevin Swann, 37, was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds. Prosecutors described the shooting as a “drug rip-off’.
Man Pleads Guilty To Threatening To Kill Rep. Matt Gaetz

A California man has pleaded guilty for a threat to kill Congressman Matt Gaetz.
Eugene Huelsman, 59, of Thousand Oaks, California, pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of transmission of a threat in interstate commerce.
During the plea hearing, Huelsman admitted that, on January 9, 2021, he called Gaetz’s congressional district office in Pensacola. When no one answered, Huelsman left a profanity-laced voicemail threatening to kill Gaetz. This included threatening to “put a bullet in” Gaetz and members of his family, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
The United States Capitol Police were contacted when the threat was made, which triggered security protocols related to the congressman. The investigation revealed this was not the first time Huelsman made threats involving political figures. Huelsman had previously been investigated for threatening a member of a former President’s family via social media.
Huelsman faces up to five years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine when he is sentenced at the United States Courthouse in Pensacola in late June.

Softball: Baker Tops Northview (With Gallery); Pace Defeats Tate

Baker 4, Northview 3
The Baker Lady Gators defeated the Northview Chiefs 4-3 Thursday night in Bratt.
Emma Gilmore went six innings in the circle for the Chiefs, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out 10. Aubrey Stuckey went one inning in relief, giving up one run and one hit while striking out one.
Kaylin Watson went 2-3 at the plate to lead Northview. Peyton Gilchrist and Kayla Dixon each had one hit.

Pace 9, Tate 2
The Pace Lady Patriots defeated the Tate Aggies 9-2 Thursday night.
Senior Courtney Lundquist pitched two innings for Tate, surrendering six hits and five runs. Jordan Smith pitched five, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out two.
Lundquist went 1-4 at the plate for the Aggies.

Blue Wahoos Split In Rocket City

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos and Rocket City Trash Pandas split in North Alabama Thursday.
Game One
Trash Pandas 5, Blue Wahoos 4
In a game that was suspended amid rain Tuesday night and completed Wednesday afternoon, the Pensacola Blue Wahoos fell 5-4 to the Rocket City Trash Pandas in Madison, Alabama.
Braxton Martinez’s go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth proved to be the difference, despite Pensacola homers from Jerar Encarnacion and Hayden Cantrelle.
In his Double-A debut, Cody Mincey struck out six batters over 5.0 solid innings. He was given a quick 1-0 lead before he threw a pitch, thanks to a Cantrelle double and Encarnacion RBI fielder’s choice in the top of the first. Encarnacion’s long two-run homer in the fifth put Pensacola ahead 3-1, but former Blue Wahoo Aaron Whitefield tied things up 3-3 in the bottom of the inning with a two-run homer of his own.
The game was suspended tied 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning on Tuesday, and was picked up on Wednesday with Eli Villalobos (L, 0-1) on the mound. Martinez hit the pivotal homer in the eighth, and Kolton Ingram (W, 1-0) worked around a Cantrelle homer in the ninth to finish the game.
Game Two
Blue Wahoos 5, Trash Pandas 3
The Pensacola Blue Wahoos rode a strong pitching performance from Will Stewart and more clutch hitting from Paul McIntosh to beat the Rocket City Trash Pandas 5-3 on Thursday night.
The game helped the Blue Wahoos salvage a win out of their long day of baseball after falling 5-4 in the conclusion of Wednesday’s suspended game earlier in the afternoon.
Stewart turned in 4.0 innings of five-hit, one-run ball as the Huntsville-area native worked around traffic to keep his team in the game. His mound opponent, Brett Kerry, struck out 10 of the first 11 batters he faced and eventually struck out 12 batters over 5.0 one-hit innings.
Kerry’s lone hit allowed was a solo home run allowed to Cobie Fletcher-Vance with two outs in the fifth inning that tied the game 1-1. The Trash Pandas wasted no time reclaiming the lead, getting a two-run double from Trey Cabbage against Parker Bugg (W, 1-0) to take a 3-1 lead.
In the sixth, the Blue Wahoos welcomed the departure of Kerry and quickly loaded the bases against erratic reliever Ivan Armstrong (L, 0-1) with two walks and a hit batsman. McIntosh, who entered the game leading the league in batting average, tied the game with a two-run double to even the score 3-3.
Griffin Conine tallied the eventual game-winning at-bat, though it came about in curious fashion. With the bases loaded and one out in the sixth, Conine lifted a sacrifice fly to right field that brought home Ray-Patrick Didder for Pensacola’s fourth run. McIntosh tagged from second, though upon appeal he was called out for leaving early. Didder’s run still counted, having crossed the plate before the appeal, preserving the go-ahead run.
Troy Johnston tallied his first Double-A RBI with a single in the eighth, and Colton Hock (S, 2) protected the 5-3 lead by delivering a scoreless ninth.
The Blue Wahoos continue their road series against the Trash Pandas on Friday night.

Beverly Kimmons Schuster

Beverly Kimmons Schuster, 61 of Pensacola, FL passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022.
Beverly was born in Atmore, AL, on October 23, 1960, to Talbert and Nila (Beck) Kimmons. She finished at Ernest Ward High School at 16 and went on to Faulkner College. She kept up her work in the medical field at Ascension Sacred Heart where she ultimately passed away from brain cancer.
She is preceded in death by her father, Talbert Kimmons.
Beverly is survived by her daughters, Karli, Jaime and her husband Logan; mother, Nila; brother, Randy Murph and his sons, Joe and Josh; special friend, Kenneth Beck; aunt, Terri Beck and son, Burton Beck, Jr.
Beverly donated her body to science. Her hope was it might help save a life.
James Rickey Dunn

Mr. James Rickey Dunn, age 61, passed away, Friday, March 25, 2022, peacefully at his home in Flomaton, AL. He was born in Mobile, AL; and had resided most of his life in Flomaton, AL.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Clinton Dunn, and grandparents, John and Genieve Biggs, and Jimmy and Jesse Dunn.
Mr. Dunn is survived by his mother, Carolyn Boutwell, of Flomaton, AL; one brother, Tod (Vanessa) Dunn, of Century, FL; one sister, Patricia Dunn, of Flomaton, AL; one nephew, Jeremy Dunn, of Flomaton, two nieces, Lisa Dunn Hagan, of Flomaton, AL; and Amanda Dunn Kyser, of Mobile, AL.
Private service will be held at a later date.
Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Two Injured In Highway 29, Molino Road Crash

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Molino.
The crash occurred about 8:40 p.m. on Highway 29 at Molino Road, where a SUV apparently rear-ended a passenger car.
Two people were reportedly transported by Escambia County EMS, one as a “trauma alert”.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating. The Molino Station of Escambia Fire Rescue and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office
