$3,000 Reward Offered For Info About Burned Cat

March 30, 2013

A $3,000 reward is being offered for information about who set a cat on fire in Escambia County.

The female cat, named Valiente, was found in the 7900 block of Mobile Highway in Beulah on March 16. It was bound with zip ties and severely burned; authorities believe an accelerant was used in the fire.

The cat is now in the care of the Escambia County Humane Society, and  a group called the Escambia County Animal Advocates is offering the reward for information that leads to an arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to call Escambia Animal Advocates at (850) 780-3223 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP.

To donate toward Valiente’s care, call the Humane Society of Pensacola at (850) 432-4250.

It takes a real sicko, with no conscience to commit an act such as cruel to such a small creature or any living creature that is a fact………. Hopefully this will follow the sicko that commited this crime forever, Totally Un-Human……….. they need to catch this creep. before he/she imposes cruelty on another animal or perhapsn a human………

Animals and beings too! They have emotions, feelings and personalities just like human beings. This is a crying shame. The goon that done this will burn one day if a change is not made in their life.

I absolutely can’t stand cats but this is just wrong in so many ways!

  16. melissa on March 30th, 2013 8:10 am

So sad. I hope who ever did this gets caught.

WOW….saw this kitty, Valiente, on t.v. news and although burned and mistreated she was “making biscuits” with her paws and bumping her head against the handler. Both cat signs of affection, trust and happiness. I hope the person who did this horrible act is caught soon. What is next, some neighbor’s kid? Evil.
I will withhold what I think should be their fate.
    Hope Valiente continues to heal.

I’m telling you now, if someone can do this to an animal that can’t defend itself or talk, they can do it to a human as well. I hope they catch whoever it is and punish them to the fullest because I assure you this isn’t the first time and won’t be the last time they do something like this. Someone us well on the way to being a serial killer. This is just sickening.

  19. Janet on March 30th, 2013 7:13 am

When someone does this to an animal– they will do more serious crimes against another human. It’s been proven. I hope they find who did this and lock them away. Sickening!

  20. 429SCJ on March 30th, 2013 4:55 am

The sick monster who did this needs to be put down, before this escalates to a person bound and burned.

  21. Cherokee Meek on March 30th, 2013 4:49 am

I hope whoever did this burns in Hell and as he/she burns in Hell they are reminded of the moment they done this to this cat.

  22. EMD on March 30th, 2013 1:12 am

HOW can a human being do such a thing? Don’t they know that other people and other creatures feel pain too? I would never turn my back on someone capable of doing such a thing. That poor cat. PITIFUL!!! The one or ones that did this are more than pitiful. I hope they turn to God and repent and get some help for their sick selves.

  23. MolinoMomma on March 30th, 2013 12:43 am

Awww that poor cat. Hope they find the sicko that did this!!
