Kristin Maum has been named the Tate High School Teacher of the year. She teaches ninth grade English, AP literature, and is PLT facilitator (ELA 1), ELA instructional chair, wellness coordinator, and girls basketball assistant coach. Pine Meadow Elementary Holds Fall Carnival
October 6, 2024
Pine Meadow Elementary School held their Fall Carnival Saturday at the Hadji Shrine Temple.
The event featured inflatables, carnival games, face painting, fun treats, pumpkin patch with over 100 pumpkins, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Posse and more.
There were also multiple food trucks at the event.

Mary Catherine Hughes Named Northview High Homecoming Queen (With Photo Gallery)

Mary Catherine Hughes was crowned Northview High School’s 2024 homecoming queen Friday night.
First runner-up was Maddie Mae Driskell, and Lacey Sapp was named second runner-up. Aakira Davis was named junior maid, MaKayla Plato was named sophomore maid, and Meeyah Lassiter was named freshman maid.

Tate High Students Take Part In See You At The Pole

Tate High School was among the area schools where students gathered together this week for the See You at the Pole event.
Students gathered as school began to pray in the non-denominational event. See You at the Pole is a national student-initiated, student organized, and student-led event. Students prayed for their school, friends, teachers, government, and the nation.
The national verse this year was “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.” [1 Timothy 2:1 (NLT).]
At Tate High, junior Nick Kontek welcomed everyone and prayed for students all over the world who have little to no religious freedom. Senior Blakely Campbell prayed for the administration and teachers and for God’s blessing and wisdom over those who lead. Sophomore Addie Manning prayed for all Tate students and family. In between each student-led prayer all students were given the opportunity to pray individually. Students and faculty also divided into smaller groups and prayed for one another.

The Tate High School Aggies are off to their best start in over 20 years, winning their fifth straight game with a convincing 42-7 victory over the West Florida Jaguars last week.
Friday night, the 5-0 Aggies will host the Navarre Raider at Pete Gindl Stadium.

Students across the area took part in the annual See You at the Pole event Wednesday morning.
