Blue Angels Air Show: What You Need To Know, With Schedule And Map
November 8, 2019
The Blue Angels homecoming air show is Friday and Saturday onboard Naval Air Station Pensacola.
Gates open both days at 8 a.m. and admission and parking for all shows are free. Areas will be reserved for the physically challenged. Food and memorabilia will be available at numerous concession stands. Pets and coolers are not permitted. Security personnel and signs will direct spectators to parking areas near the show site.
Tentatively scheduled for both days will be extraordinary aerobatics by performers such as U.S. Navy Parachute Team “The Leap Frogs” and Rob Holland in his MXS-RH monoplane. Adam Baker will fly his Extra 330 to thrill the crowd and Matt Chapman will conduct aerobatics in the Embry Riddle. The show will also feature the world famous GEICO Skytypers Air Show Team, a flight squadron consisting of six vintage World War II aircraft. Chris Darnell will drive the world’s fastest jet powered truck “Shockwave” at more than 300 miles per hour and the AeroShell Aerobatic Team will perform tight, awe-inspiring formation aerial maneuvers.
There will also be a night show on Friday evening that will start at approximately 4 p.m. and end with a fireworks show. The Blue Angels will not be participating in the night air show. The Blue Angels will fly at approximately 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday as part of the day air shows.
Along with incredible flying demonstrations, dozens of military and civilian aircraft will be on display. These static displays will include a variety of aircraft ranging from the present-day, state-of-the-art fighters to aircraft from the 1930s.

Playoffs Begin Tonight For Eight Area Teams

Eight North Escambia area teams are in the playoffs. Six of the teams are in Florida, and two are in Alabama.

Region 1-3A
Pensacola Catholic, ranked No. 1 in the region, has a bye Friday night and on November 15 will play the winner of Trinity Catholic vs. Trinity Christian.

Driver’s License Service, Vehicle Registration Event Today In Century

Mobile driver’s license and vehicle registration services are available Tuesday in Century.
Thee Florida Licensing On Wheels (FLOW) mobile office will be in Century from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Billy G. Ward Century Courthouse at 7500 North Century Boulevard.
FLOW is a stand-alone mobile office with technology to provide most motorists’ needs. The mobile unit provides a convenient method to renew a driver’s license, obtain a replacement driver’s license, conversion/reciprocation of out-of-state license, change a name or address on a current driver’s license or identification card, and get a first-time identification card. In addition to licensing services, the mobile unit also provides an opportunity to renew or replace a vehicle registration and apply, renew or replace disabled parking placards. Written and driving tests are not available from the FLOW unit.
Citizens can renew vehicle registrations up to three months and driver’s licenses up to 18 months in advance of expiration.
Citizens using the FLOW services are encouraged to visit EscambiaTaxCollector.com and click the “What Do I Bring” button for information on what is needed for these services. Staff from the tax collector’s office will be on hand to answer all FLOW service questions and questions concerning all other tax collector services such as property tax, business tax receipts, concealed weapons licensing, etc. Citizens also can drop off property tax payments (checks only).

District 5 Commissioner Holding Town Hall Today

Escambia County District 5 Commissioner Steven Barry will hold a public town hall today.
The event will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, November 4 at the Milestone Baptist Church.
