Ransom Middle Students Kept Off Campus Tuesday Morning Due To Threat

Students are being kept off campus at Ransom Middle School this morning due to an unspecified “threat.”

“We received a threat, and law enforcement is checking it out,” Cody Strother, communications coordinator for Escambia County Public Schools, said.

He said students and arriving parents were being rerouted to nearby Kingsfield Elementary School temporarily.

“They received a threat on a tip line,” Morgan Lewis, spokesperson for the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, said. “K-9s conducted a full search of the school, and they are just doing that one more time.”

Lewis said another school in Florida received a very similar “bot” threat this morning.
