ECFR And Jay Fire Department Conduct Specialized Grain Bin Rescue Training

August 29, 2026

Escambia County Fire Rescue joined the Jay Fire Department this week for a Grain Bin Rescue Class, a specialized training that tested crewmembers’ skills in unique situations.

The training session included a classroom component followed by a hands-on session with prop and active grain silos, in addition to simulating rescues for a victim trapped in a grain silo.

North Escambia and surrounding areas have numerous grain silos, ranging from a commercial facility in Walnut Hill to area farms.
