Dangerous Heat Index Values With Afternoon Storm Chances Through Friday

Dangerously hot conditions and typical late-summer storm chances will dominate the North Escambia area over the next few days, with heat index values expected to peak between 106 and 110 degrees through Thursday before storm chances slightly ease heading into the weekend.

A heat advisory is in effect for Wednesday.

Wednesday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 76. Southwest wind around 5 mph.

Thursday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 95. Heat index values as high as 110. West wind around 5 mph.

Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.

Friday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 93. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph.

Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 74. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 93. Northwest wind around 5 mph.
