Florida Gas Prices Rise; Pensacola Metro Lowest In State

Escambia County had the lowest average gas price in Florida on Sunday at $4.08 per gallon.
Statewide, gas prices rose 18 cents last week, then declined 6 cents through the weekend, according to AAA.
Sunday’s state average of $4.37 per gallon was 7 cents more than a week ago, 41 cents more than last month, and $1.42 per gallon more than last year.
On NorthEscambia.com the low price Sunday night was $3.95 at a station on Muscogee Road. In Pensacola, a low price of $3.86 could be found at the warehouse clubs.
“Gasoline prices bounced higher last week, in response to oil price gains the week before,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Fortunately, oil prices moved lower last week. That could ease some of the upward pressure on prices at the pump.”
AAA said the average driver currently pays $65 to fill their gas tank. Last year at this time, the average cost for a fill-up was $44.
