Mary Jo Hollinhead, 89, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

She was born on February 4, 1936, in Abilene, Texas to the late Rufus Eaton Gates and Anna Louise Cox Gates. Mary enjoyed her life as a mother and homemaker and in her spare time enjoyed reading a good book. She was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 20 years, Charles Hollinhead, second husband, Frank Barron, and first husband, James Bentley; daughter, Barbara Bracy; son, Russell Hollinhead; granddaughter, Cynthia Barger; grandsons, Danny Adams and Frankie Barron; brothers, Franklin Gates, Charles Gates, Paul Gates, Winfred Gates, Donnie Gates, and Geroge Gates; and sisters, Billy Mae Bracy and Nettie Lou Scarlett.

Mary is survived by her sisters, Donna Gates and Dortha Greenwalt; daughters, Mary Lou Fletcher, Nancy (Tracy) Barger, and Elizabeth Neel; sons, Wayne (Ruth) Hollinhead, Mark (Jackie) Hollinhead, Charles (Dixie) Barron, and Frank Charles Barron, Jr.; twenty-one grandchildren, Malinda and Vanessa Barron, Joseph and Alicia Reef, Christopher and Coleman Gann, Danny and Michael Bracy, Donnie, Edward and David Gates, Anna (Kenneth) Pedicord, Monica, Clayton, Lisa and Allison Hollinhead, Justin Adams, Cecil “Boomer” Neel, II, Heather, Michael and Jeanette Hollinhead, and Emily Barron; five great grandchildren, Samantha McDowell, Raymond Pedicord, Lucas and Gavin Gates, and Kaylyn, Gunner, and Braydon Adams; and one great great grandson, Otto McDowell. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North. Burial will follow in Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery, Brewton, Alabama.

The family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m. prior to services.

Pallbearers will be Tracy Barger, Edward Gates, Billy McDowell, Raymond Pedicord, Samantha Gates, and Kenneth Pedicord. Donnie Gates will act as Honorary Bearer.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, 1000 South Highway 29, Cantonment, is entrusted with arrangements.
