Ascend Reports Non-Hazardous Wastewater Spill

Ascend Performance Materials on Old Chemstrand Road reported a non-hazardous wastewater spill on Tuesday.

“Due to equipment malfunction, non-hazardous process wastewater overfilled a containment dike and overflowed onto the ground in excess of 1000 gallon,” a report filed with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection stated.

The spill occurred between 7:35 a.m. and 8:50 a.m., according to the report.
