Altha Gene “Bo” Brantley

Mr. Altha Gene “Bo” Brantley, age 87, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025, at an Alabama hospital.
Mr. Brantley was born in Flomaton, Alabama and has been a lifelong resident. He is of the Baptist faith and attended Little Escambia Baptist Church where he was Sunday School Director for many years. On May 18, 2025, he was promoted to Deacon Emeritus after 65 years of being a deacon at Little Escambia Baptist Church. He was a graduate of the Flomaton High School class of 1956. He was a Flomaton High School Trustee, a Flomaton High School Sports Hall of Fame Member. He was also a nominee for AHSAA Hall of Fame. Mr. Brantley was a member of the Gideons International for more than 50 years. He was an honorary Lt. Firefighter and Chaplain for the Flomaton Fire Department. He was a founding member of the Escambia County Health Care Authority and served 30 years. Mr. Bo was a member of the Flomaton Chamber of Commerce and was a founding member of the Railroad Junction Day. Mr. Brantley was the host on the Friday night Radio Show WPFL “Pigskin Review”. He was the host on WKNU for Sunday Down South. Mr. Brantley was the radio host on WPFL for “Coach’s Corner” and “Fearless Friday Forecast”. He was on the B.O. & K.O. Radio show WTCB of Flomaton. He was also a member of the Tri-city Rotary Club. Mr. Bo Brantley was also an avid Alabama football fan and loved wood working and gardening. He is preceded in death by his parents – Calvin (Tobe) and Lucille Brantley; and a granddaughter n law – Monica McCall.
Mr. Bo Brantley is survived by the love of his life for 67 years Mrs. Dot Brantley; one son – Michael Brantley of Philadelphia; two daughters – Sheri (Sam) McCall of McKenzie and Dee Dee (George) Litaker of Fairhope; grandchildren – Bo & Ashley McCall, Micha & Kristi McCall, Courtney & Justin Rabon, Josh McCall, Danielle & Ty Hughes, Lindsay & Christopher Jordan, Justin Litaker, Candace & Anthony Headland, Cole & Rachel Litaker; 17 great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the chapel of Flomaton Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation on May, 29, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M at Little Escambia Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at the Little Escambia Baptist Church with Bro Jonathon Hill and Dr. Larry Patterson officiating. Interment will be at Little Escambia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers – Josh McCall, Landen Robertson, Steve Stanton, Bo McCall, Micah McCall and Justin Rabon.
Honorary pallbearers – Gideons, Deacons, Larry White, Joe Brantley and Jimmy Brantley.
