Thousands Attend Blue Jacket Jamboree, Livestock Show, Egg Drop (With Photo Gallery)

March 31, 2019

Thousands of people attended the annual Northview High School FFA Blue Jacket Jamboree and the Gulf Coast Agriculture & Natural Resources Youth Organization Annual Spring Livestock Show Saturday in Molino.

The event included plenty of arts and crafts, a car show and more, including a special visit from the Easter Bunny and an egg drop from a ladder fire truck.

The livestock show included 4-H and FFA youth exhibiting hogs, beef cattle, sheep, goats, poultry, and rabbits from Escambia and neighboring counties. The day ended with youth exhibitors auctioning off their market animals.

William, I hope next year you are able to get a schedule. Those kids work so hard getting their livestock ready for the show and it would be nice to be able to see them recognized. I’m sorry you missed it.

“William, You missed a great show in the afternoon when the livestock was scheduled to show from about 1 to 5 pm. Too bad no one from the news could wait around for it.”

I had multiple events to cover on Saturday, and the hour and a half I was there was the most I could commit to the one event. No one from the livestock show provided us a schedule or any info in advance where time might could have been better allotted.

“It would have been nice to show more picture of the youth showing their cattle, lambs and goats after they put months in to getting ready for the show. The pictures of all the children were cute but overdone.”

The show arena was empty the entire hour and a half or so we were there.

Congratulations, Kyler Richie Bennett for the win of Grand Champions on your chickens. Pawpaw and Nana are so proud of you.
