Two Injured In Highway 4 Rollover Wreck

October 5, 2017

Two people were injured in a single vehicle rollover accident near Byrneville Thursday evening.

The pickup and trailer separated, with the truck overturning on the south shoulder of the road and the boat and trailer overturning on the north shoulder.

A male in the pickup was trapped and extricated by firefighters using the Jaws of Life while a female was pulled from the wreckage by bystanders.

Both accident victims were transported by ambulance to Jay Hospital with injuries that were not considered severe.

The accident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol; further details have not been released. The Century and Walnut Hill stations of Escambia Fire Rescue, the Flomaton Fire Department, Escambia County EMS, Atmore Ambulance and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the crash.

Are the folks involved in the accident missing a dog? I live near the accident site and a dog showed up at my house this morning. I contacted the vet listed on the dog tag, they received info from the owner’s contact person that the pet’s owner had been involved in an accident. If the accident victim is missing a dog, please reply to this post with a contact number. Thank you!
