Body Of 4-Year Old That Fell From Boat Found In Bay

The body of a 4-year old that fell of a boat Saturday afternoon was discovered Monday afternoon.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said Logan Fontana Maye was found by a fisherman in the waters south of the Coast Guard Station in Pensacola. His family has been notified.
According to FWC the child’s grandfather, Steve Maye, said he was idling away from the Coast Guard Station near Fort Pickens when the boy wanted assistance in getting sand out of his life jacket.
The life jacket was taken off the child, and Maye told authorities he gave it back to him and thought he put it on before he moved the boat at just 10 mph. Maye told officials that it was about one minute later that he looked back and did not see Logan, only the life jacket.
Officials confirmed Logan was not wearing a personal floatation device at the time he fell overboard.

I miss my son.. y didnt he jump in or make sure his life vest was on i just do not understand.. y did this happen to my baby.. life is not fair.. my 9yr old and i are tourmented terribly
May the peace of Christ comfort this family as only He can through a tragedy like this. The pain this family must be endouring is unimaginable. Rest in peace little Logan, you have touched the hearts of many and you will not be forgotten.
My heart breaks for this entire family!! I haven’t been able to stop thinking about little Logan! I too have a four year old and while laying with him last night as he slept….I just cried!! My son also loves and adores his pawpaw. They spend everyday together while we work and I can’t even imagine losing my child and then my Daddy feeling….. forever responsible! Accidents happen and this is a tragic one to say the least. I pray for Logan’s momma and daddy but especially his grandpa!!! You WILL see Logan again please believe that!! He WILL be waiting for you in Heaven to do some more fishing!!!

I’m glad the body was recovered for some closure. This is every grand parent’s worse nightmare! This will change that poor man’s life forever!

Such a tragedy!! Rest in the arms of Jesus little Logan! Praying for your whole family especially his Grandpa from what I’ve heard Logan was the light of his life!! So many people attacking this man and his actions, they shouldn’t judge him or ridicule him like that! I fish on these waters all the time and the number of children without life jackets is astronomical atleast this man tried to protect his grandson ya know accidents do happen! RIP LOGAN

I’ve been thinking a lot about this little boy’s tragic fate since the story broke. I thought I was having a bad day up until that point. This little boy’s story grounded me and made me more aware of how lucky I am and how quickly things can change. Rest in peace Little Logan, you are not forgotten.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve been praying for you family all day.
Some of us think we are havin a bad day. We need to do some re thinkin, prayers go out to this lovin family, may god be with you.
I cannot even begin to imagine what this child’s parents and family are experiencing at this time. All I keep seeing is this baby walking with Jesus in a pair of little wings. I know that’s where he is now. I would like to lift this momma and daddy and family up in prayer and ask that our Heavenly Father bestow peace and comfort upon each one of them during this sad sad time. I pray that they are comforted and that the void in their hearts that now exists will only be void for a short while…knowing that some comfort has got to come from knowing that their baby now walks with Jesus!!! I am deeply deeply sorry for this family’s loss.
