Northview Takes Jay 9-2 In Big District Win (With Gallery)

The Northview Chiefs earned a big district win 9-2 over rival Jay Thursday night in Jay.

Tied 2-2 after three, the Chiefs pulled away with a run in the fourth and had a five-run seventh inning.

Jamarus Jefferson went for five innings for the Chiefs, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out eight. Kaden Odom closed on the hill, allowing one hit, no runs and striking out two in two innings.

Northview’s Rustin Pope went 3-5 to lead Northview at bat. Odom and Tyler Shaw both went 2-3. Luke Bridges, Josh Landis and Crson Burkett each had a hit.

Justin Smarr led the Royals at the plate, going 2-4.

The Chiefs and Royals will face off again Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. at Wahoos Stadium.

Tate Downs South Walton

The Tate Aggies beat South Walton 8-3 Thursday at Blue Wahoos Stadium.

Rilee Lowery earned the win for Tate, going four innings with three runs on two hits and striking out two. Gabriel  Patterson threw three in relief, allowing one hit and striking out five.

Drew Reaves went 2-4 and James Davis was 2-3 to lead the Aggies at bat. Clifton Quiggins added one hit for Tate.

The Aggie are back in action Friday at 7:00 at Wahoos Stadium against Panama City Arnold.

Tate Aggies Fall To Visiting Robertsdale (With Photo Gallery)

The Tate Lady Aggies fell to visiting Robertsdale 7-2 Wednesday night.

Kate Balagbagan went four and a third innings for Tate, giving up three runs and six hits while striking out one and walking one. Peyton Womack pitched two and two-thirds innings  allowing four runs and seven hits while striking out two.

Blakely Campbell led the Aggies at the plate, going 2-3 with one RBI. Lacy Wilson and Charli Vinson each added a hit for the Aggies.

The Aggies will travel to Milton to take on the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Northview Varsity, JV Beat PCA By Combined 31-3; Tate Beats Fort Walton 12-4

The Northview Chiefs varsity and junior varsity beat Pensacola Christian by a combined 31-3 Tuesday, while Tate downed Fort Walton 12-4.

Northview 20, Pensacola Christian 0

Three Northview Chiefs pitchers combined for a 20-0 shutout win over Pensacola Christian in four innings Tuesday night in Pensacola.

Kaden Odom, Jamarcus Jefferson and Cason Burkett gave up no hits, no runs and no errors while tallying eight total strikeouts.

Ethan Collier led Northview at bat, going 2-4, Odom, Burkett, Trenton Knighten, Rustin Pope, Josh Landis, and G Sheffield had one hit each.

Northview 11, Pensacola Christian 3 (JV)

The Northview Chiefs junior varsity beat Pensacola Christian 11-3 in a no hitter.

B. Rhodes went two innings on the hill for Northview, allowing no hits and one run while striking out five.  T. Gilmore, J. White and B. Mason closed in relief.

C. Pugh went 2-2 for the Chiefs. Rhodes, Mason and J. Bridges each added a hit for Northview

Tate 12, Fort Walton 4

With a seven-run sixth inning, the Tate Aggies defeated Fort Walton Beach on the road 12-4 Tuesday night.

Ethan McAnally earned the win for the Aggies, giving up one run on six hits and striking out one in three and third innings. Aiden Byrd, Colton Swiers, Rilee Lowery and Tristin Lynn entered in relief.

Tops at the plate for the Aggies was Javin Floyd at 2-3. McAnally, Frank Randall, Clifton Quiggins, Brayden Touchstone, Drew Reaves, and James Davis each added one hit for Tate.

Pensacola Catholic Tops Northview; Pace Outscores Tate

Pensacola Catholic defeated Northview 9-4 Tuesday night.

Emma Gilmore went two and two thirds innings,  giving up six runs on six hits and striking out five. Aubrey Stuckey entered the circle in relief for three and a third innings, giving up six hits and three runs while sitting down five.

Rylee Brooks led at the Plate for Northview, going 2-4. Gilmore,  Keeli Knighten, Jamison Gilman, and Mary-Clayton Dawson each added a hit.

Pace 9, Tate 1

The Pace Patriots defeated the Tate Aggies 9-1 Tuesday night in Pace.

Jordan Smith went six innings for the Lady Aggies, allowing 13 hits and nine runs while recording three strikeouts.

Lacy Wilson, Kara Wine and Charli Vinson each had a hit for Tate.

Tate High Tennis Defeats Escambia

The Tate High School Aggies tennis boys and girls teams earned wins over Escambia High School Tuesday night. The Aggies boys won 5-2, and Tate’s girls won 7-0. The season record for the boys is now 5-4 while the girls have improved to 9-1. Photos for NorthEscambia.com, click to enlarge.

Northview’s Luke Bridges Signs To Play Football At Millsaps College

Monday, Northview High School senior Luke Bridges signed to play football at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.

According to NHS head football coach Wes Summerford, Bridges recorded 353 career tackles on defense for the Chiefs, including 19 tackles for a loss. On offense, he scored 19 touchdowns and averaging “a stunning 24 yards every time he touched the football”.

Bridges took a moment to thank his family during the signing ceremony.

“My dad taught me how to love the game and what it meant to be a football player on and off the field…and my mom for being my biggest supporter…and then my little brother for being by my said through it all,” he said. Bridges also thanked his teammates and coaches.

Bid Awarded For Upgraded Lighting At Northview, Tate, Escambia High Softball Fields

The Escambia County District has awarded a bid at just under three-quarters of million dollars for upgraded softball field lighting at Northview, Tate and Escambia high schools.

On a 5-0 vote, the contract was awarded by the Escambia County School Board to low bidder Bill Smith Electric for $738,645. One other bid was received from Gulf Electric for $799,961.

Middle School Volleyball County Titles Go To Beulah Middle, Beulah Academy Of Science
