August 9, 2019

A heat advisory has been issued through 7 p.m. Monday with the daytime heat index expected to be 107 t0 112 with some areas reaching 115.
The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Heat exhaustion may set in if individuals are not adequately cooled or hydrated. Morning lows remaining above
78 degrees will add to the overall heat stress with little to no relief.
Residents should check on elderly friends and neighbors, and those without air conditioning.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.
