Mark Allen Trotter
June 24, 2026
With broken hearts, we share that Mark Allen Trotter, 65, of Molino, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on June 18, 2026, with his loving family by his side. Born on December 18, 1960, in Pensacola, Florida, Mark was the son of the late Sam and Betty Trotter.
Mark was the devoted husband and lifelong partner of Debbie “Nana Doo” Trotter, with whom he shared 35 years of love, laughter, and unwavering companionship. Together they built a home filled with faith, family, and countless memories that will be cherished forever.
At 18 years old, Mark began working in production at Armstrong World Industries before later joining the maintenance department, where he faithfully served a total of 37 years. His strong work ethic, honesty, and dependability earned the respect of everyone who worked alongside him.
Mark loved the simple joys of life. He found peace with a fishing pole in his hand, music playing in the background, and the sun on his face. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially working in the yard and tending to beautiful flowers, always finding ways to make the world around him a little more bright and welcoming.
Above all else, Mark loved his family. He was a man of deep faith who loved God and tried to live that out in the way he treated others—with kindness, generosity, and a big heart that was always ready to help anyone he could. He was an honest man, a steady and loving husband, a wonderful father, a loyal friend, and an amazing “Papa Doo” to his four grandsons. He was a proud grandfather and never missed a chance to brag on his boys.
Our lives are forever changed for the better because we were loved by Mark. Though we will miss him more than words can express, we take comfort in knowing he is in the presence of God and reunited with his grandson Kam (Junebug). We know they are together again.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Betty Trotter, and his beloved grandson, Kameron Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie “Nana Doo” Trotter; his children, Kimberly Smith (Timothy Maier) and Kris McDonald; and his grandchildren, Tristan Smith, Kaden McDonald, and Sawyer Maier. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure the memories they made with him.
Pallbearers will be Tristan Smith, Kaden McDonald, Timothy Maier, Greg Skipper, Clint Smith, and Craig McNair. Honorary pallbearer will be Jimmie Coleman.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff who cared for Mark with such tenderness and compassion. At Sacred Heart, nurses Alura, Brandi, and the many others who stood by Mark and Debbie showed a level of love, kindness, and prayerful support that will never be forgotten. At UF Shands, Willie, AJ, Candice, Christina, and the rest of the nursing team cared for him as if he were their own family, surrounding him with patience, gentleness, and hope. The love, care, and prayers from these special nurses God placed in his path will always be remembered with deep appreciation.
Though Mark’s time with us feels far too short, the love, laughter, and memories he gave us will remain in our hearts forever.
From Debbie’s heart:
“You were my soulmate and the love of my life. I will love you to the day after forever. Forever yours, Nana Doo.”
