  1. No red light on April 20th, 2025 7:17 am

    @ all of the people saying we need a red light here and all of the intersecting roads..must not understand traffic and how red lights affect traffic further down the line. I live less than half a mile from jure, i stop, I look for traffic. Not hard. Don’t run the stop signs. Do t chance to take gaps. Drive smart and safely. No red light needed at all.

    Stop lights reduce average speeds through the intersection. No one thinks that they will prevent all accidents. They will however reduce the occurrence of fatal accidents. 29@97 is a great example. There used to be fatalities there pretty often. Since the implantation of the full function light and designated turn arrows, the amount of fatal accidents has been reduced. People do need to pay attention. Obviously some people need a little something more to grab that attention.

    @neighbor on April 19
    Stop lites does not fix STUPID.
    When you buy into a new subdivision, you should know what the traffic problems might be.
    Quintette might be 4 lanes in the next 10 years, then maybe a lite. But it wont stop wrecks.

    There definitely needs to be a red light at 196. I say put one up there, and Quintette, Turtle Creek, Neal Rd and anywhere else regular traffic tries to get out onto, or cross Hwy 29. It will slow traffic down. Cell phones, drivers running stop signs, whatever, red lights will slow the 80+ mph stream of traffic DOWN. Come on guys, there so much more traffic today than 10 years ago, and the new subdivisions still going in, get with it!

    I have lived off of Highway 196 for over 25 years. A red light is not needed there. People just need to pay attention.

    I do like though, that the illuminated stop sign on highway 196 And Highway 29 was installed.

    People run those stop signs all the time. And pull out in front of cars moving 65mph

    Absolutely positively no more Red Lights on the north end of the county!!!! Write big hefty tickets to those responsible for theses recks. We have a careless driver problem, not a traffic light problem.
