Nell Ree Vickery Owens

Mrs. Nell Ree Vickery Owens, age 88, passed away peacefully, October 30, 2022 in Foley, AL; surrounded by her family. She resided most of her life in Atmore, AL. She was a member and Treasurer of Bethel Methodist Church for many years. She retired as a Bookkeeper with the Atmore Office and School Supply with many years of service.

Mrs. Owens enjoyed spending time, caring and being a good listener for her family and children. She enjoyed cooking for others, such as church functions, and get togethers. She and Mr. Alvin enjoyed going to gospel singings around the area. She enjoyed gardening, but what she really enjoyed was the canning of the vegetables and being able to share them with others. She was a big fan and follower of the Atlanta Braves and Professional Golf on TV. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and search word puzzles.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Alvin E. Owens, parents, Bunk and Myrtle Vickery, two brothers, Lawrence Vickery, Doug Vickery, and one sister, Shirley Fayard.

She is survived by her one brother, Weldon (Kay) Vickery, of Bratt, FL; one sister, Ann (Larry) Davis, of Atmore, AL; cherished nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC. with Sister, Kay Vickery officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 11:00 AM until service time at 12:00 PM at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC.

Pallbearers will be Greg Turberville, Mike Fayard, Bryan Fayard, Kevin Vickery, Danny Vickery, Doug Vickery, Jr; and Gus Jones.
