Jim “JB” Burl Day

Mr. Jim “JB” Burl Day, age 86, passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 in Pensacola, Florida.

Mr. Day was a native of Huxford, AL, former resident of Century, FL and had resided in Brewton, AL for the past 10 years. He was a member of the Century Masonic Lodge #213, Jay Order of Eastern Star Chapter 208, the Springhill Primtive Baptist Church and retired from Champion Paper Mill with 40 years of service. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Joann Johnson Day; one brother, J.D. Day and parents, Robert and Mary Day.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Day of Brewton, AL; one son, William Anthony Day of Century, FL; two step-sons, David Edward (Yvonne) Beasley of Danville, KY and Michael Ashley (Wemberlee) Beasley of Greenville, AL; one daughter, Lisa Day (Alvin) Ahn of Pensacola, FL; one sister, Lottie Nell (Rex) Crews of Cantonment, FL; four grandchildren, Jake E. Livingston of Century, FL, Samantha Smith of Pensacola, FL, Valerie Day Massey of Pensacola, FL and Julie Day Pearson of Pensacola, FL and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 29, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Mitch Herring and Bro. Dawson Stanaland officiating.

Burial will follow at the Springhill Cemetery with Masonic Rites.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 29, 2019 from 11:30 AM until service time at 2:00 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be David Beasley and five Brother Masons.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Order of Eastern Star and other Brother Masons.
