Pictured is early Thursday morning at Lake Stone on West Highway 4, just outside Century.

Lake Stone Campground is a 100-acre campground and boat ramp facility . The campground has 77 campsites for everything from big RV rigs to tents. Recently updated to accommodate the more modern and much larger RV’s, Lake Stone is the county’s only facility located on a fresh water lake.

Lake Stone facilities include a boat ramp (gasoline engines are not allowedon Lake Stone), indoor public use building, a playground, showers, restrooms, fishing pier, security lights, electrical and water hookups, a sewage dump station, picnic areas and the beautiful lake.

    >>WHYcan’t the State stock the lake?

I suppose the state could stock the lake, but it’s a county -owned lake.

WHYcan’t the State stock the lake so we older residents have a place to fish. I am going to write the Fish and Wildlife group and see why they do not tale care of the ONLY lake we have up here and stock it with fish. You never even get a bite over there!

Thank you William for sharing! Lake Stone is beautiful! And Mike you can use trolling motors! LOL. We have a family reunion there every year as well, the closed in pavilion is wonderful, don’t have to worry about the weather! Hot, cold, rain or shine! Even has a fire place!

“Gasoline engines are not allowed on Lake Stone”……. goes along good with the submitted photos, don’t you think? Lol. I have been here 15 years and never heard of this place; added to my list.
