Jay Man Killed In Wreck Near Alabama/Florida Line

A Jay man was killed in an accident near the Alabama/Florida line in Santa Rosa County Sunday night.
The Florida Highway Patrol said 39-year old Shannon M. Williams was northbound on Highway 87 northeast of Jay near Pogue Thompson Road…near where Highway 87 crosses into Alabama and becomes Highway 41 south of Brewton. For unknown reasons, he drifted off the paved portion of the roadway onto the shoulder. His 1999 Toyota truck then struck a culvert, overturned several times and struck a utility pole.
Williams, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected. There were no passengers in the vehicle.

This is so sad i have known Shane and Holley and the kids since i was little. him and my daddy Monkey have been friends for a very long time. Im praying for the family i love them with all my heart. they where there for me wen my mama passed and ima be here for them!!!!

Shane was a wonderful man i was married to his brother years ago and he treated me like a sister i know the kids who i love very much and know they loved their daddy with all their hearts and Holly his wife they were so in love and stood by each other he was an amazing man will be missed so much sending prayers and love to the family

I’m so sorry and praying for all of Shane’s family right now. I haven’t seen him in a long time but graduated high school with him. He was loyal and funny. He definitely added laughter and personality to our class and he will be missed. I’m so sorry for all of you.

Shane was the type of person that if you hadn’t seen him for awhile, he would go out of his way to speak to you. Like someone mentioned earlier, I’m sure he never met a stranger. Shane was a wonderful man who loved his family dearly and always made sure they were taken care of. He cared about people and would help anyone. I dont think Shane ever knew a stranger. He was my brother and my kids uncle. He took us is as family and we remained that way. Now he is in heaven with his Daddy another wonderful man Morgan Williams. They are both deeply missed and very much loved. Prayers and love to My sister and best friend Holly, my niece Courtney Daddys little girl anf my nephews Colton and Hunter as well as the rest of the family. God be with you through these difficult times you face ahead and may you put your faith in Him. I love yall.
