Flomaton’s Zeb Vickery Inks With UAB Football
April 5, 2022
Flomaton High School senior Zeb Vickery signed a letter of intent Monday to play football at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Vickery will play quarterback at UAB.
Vickery will become the third Flomaton Hurricane to actively play Division 1 football. Jackson Dullard is at Troy State, and Daquan Johnson is at Duke.

Tate Girls Lacrosse Team Gets Three Wins To Move Into Second Place In District

Tate High’s girls lacrosse team ended last week with three district wins, beating Navarre, Washington and Fort Walton landing them in second place.
Tuesday is Senior Night against Pensacola High, and Friday night will be the last game of the regular season against West Florida High.
The Tate High School girls lacrosse team is coached by Lee Jennings, Jason Strength and Candace Greenwell.

West Florida Softball And Baseball Top Northview; Gulf Breeze Bests Tate Freshmen

SOFTBALL
West Florida 6, Northview 1
The West Florida Lady Jaguars defeated the Northview Lady Chiefs 6-1 Thursday in Bratt.
Sydney Scapin went seven innings for West Florida, allowing one run on two hits while striking out 14.
Emma Gilmore opened on the mound for Northview, giving up four runs and one hit while striking out three in three and two-thirds innings. Aubrey Stuckey tossed three and a third innings
Jamison Gilman and Kayla Dixon both had one hit to lead Northview.
Scapin, Mariah Golson, M. McAnally, Alesha Write and Brea Holley each had one hit for West Florida.
BASEBALL
West Florida 8, Northview 6
The Northview Chiefs fell to the West Florida Jaguars 8-6 Thursday night in Bratt.
Gavin King went five and a third innings on the hill for West Florida to earn the win, allowing six hits and five runs while tallying five strikeouts.
Northview’s Josh Landis allowed six hits and six runs in four innings, striking out one. Jamarkus Jefferson and Ethan Collier each allowed one hit, one run and had two strikeouts.
West Florida’s Grayson Phillips and Gage Dewsnap had two hits each.
Jefferson, Landis, and Wyatt Scruggs had two hits each for the Chiefs.
Gulf Breeze 12, Tate 8 (Freshmen)
The Gulf Breeze Dolphins defeated the Tate Aggies 12-8 Thursday in Freshman baseball.
Edgar Sheppard went two innings, allowing five hits, eight runs and striking out two for Tate. Taite Davis pitched three, allowing four runs, four hits, and striking out two.
Kaleb Posta and Nathan Ozuna had two hits each for the Aggies. Tyler Folmar and Kaydon Biggs both added a hit.

Tate Aggies Tennis Defeats Escambia

Tate Tennis defeated Escambia on Thursday.
The Tate boys won 7-0, and the girls defeated Escambia 6-1.
Up next, Tate will host Gulf Breeze on Monday.

Miracle League Of Pensacola Still Needs Buddies For The Spring Season

The Miracle League of Pensacola is still looking for volunteers to serve as buddies during the current spring season.
Buddies can volunteer for one or two games or for the rest of the season. Individuals and groups are welcome to participate.

Penton, Kelly Homer As Tate Shuts Out West Florida; Miller Tops Northview Softball

Tate 15, West Florida 0
The Tate Aggies shut out the West Florida Jaguars 15-0 Tuesday night.
Ethan McAnally earned the win for Tate, going three innings with no runs, no hits and six strikeouts. Colen Swiets pitched one inning in relief, allowing one hit, not runs and striking out one.
Cade Kelly and Jackson Penton both had home runs for the Aggies. Penton was 3-3 with two runs and six RBIs to the lead Tate at bat.

Jamison Gillman gave up nine runs on four hits while striking out nine in six innings. Aubrey Stuckey tossed one inning in relief allowing two runs, not hits and striking out one.
Stuckey, Peyton Gilchrist, and Kayla Dixon had two hits each to lead Northview.

Tate Freshmen Drop Navarre; T.R. Miller Tops Northview

Tate 11, Navarre 2 (Freshmen)
The Tate High School Aggie Freshmen defeated Navarre 11-2 on Monday.
Nathan Ozuna got the win Tate, lasting three innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out seven. Brodie Rhodes tossed three innings in relief, giving up hit and no runs while striking out five.
Taite Davis led the Aggies at the plate, going 3-4 with two runs and an RBI. Kaleb Posta, Ozuna and Trevor Land had two hits each for Tate.
T.R. Miller 6, Northview 5
The Northview Chiefs fell short of T.R. Miller 6-5 Monday in Bratt.
Cason Burkett allowing five run on six hits and struck out six for the Chiefs. Jamarkus Jefferson pitched two, allowing one run on one hit and striking out five.
Rustin Pope was 3-4 at the plate to lead Northview. Jefferson and Kaden Odom added two hits each, and Burkett had one.
Molino Mayhem Take Second In Benefit Tournament
March 28, 2022
The Molino Mayhem took second place for 10U in the Aubreigh’s Army DIPG tournament in Semmes, Alabama. The tournament raised money for research into DIGP, a rare, aggressive form of brain cancer.

Tate Aggies Shut Out Fort Walton Saturday Night At Blue Wahoos Stadium
March 27, 2022
The pitchers combined as the Tate Aggies shut out Fort Walton Beach 11-0 Saturday at Blue Wahoos Stadium.
Josiah Glodfelter earned the win for Tate, going three innings, allow two hits, no runs, striking out five and walking one. Ethan McAnally and Gabe Patterson closed out the game, allowing no hits in the final two innings.
Jackson Penton went 3-3 with four RBIs and a run to lead the Aggies at the plate. Clif Quiggins was 2-3 with two RBIs and a run. Madox Land, Drew Reaves, McAnally, Frankie Randall ad Dalton Biggs each added a hit.
