Suspect In October Murder Now In Escambia County Jail
November 10, 2022
The alleged gunman in an October 29 murder in Escambia County has been extradited and was booked into the Escambia County Jail without bond Wednesday night.
Jacob Monroe Colville, 29, was wanted for first degree premeditated murder. He was captured with a gun, ammunition, cash, drugs and makeup in the Orlando area. Mugshots pictured above show Colville without makeup (left) when he was booked into the Escambia County Jail Wednesday night and with makeup in Lake County (right).
An officer with the Eustis Police Department initiated a traffic stop. During the stop, a sergeant observed the front seat passenger, later identified Colville, appear to remove something from his front waistband area and place it on the seat, according to police.
Eustis Police officers reported finding a .40 caliber Ruger semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine on the passenger seat, along with 48.6 grams of methamphetamine, smoking devices, $2,300 in cash, and “several items related to the sale of narcotics” in Colville’s backpack.
“In the same backpack, items to disguise his identity were located such as a wig attached to a ballcap, glasses, and makeup. Colville also had makeup on, in an attempt to conceal some of his tattoos,” Eustis Police said.
In addition to the murder warrant, he was charged in Lake County Florida with armed trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of firearm by convicted felon, carrying concealed firearm, improper exhibition of dangerous firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Alyssa Marie Blackburn, 22, and Lawrence Bonner, Jr., 44, were both previously charged with principal to first-degree premeditated murder.
The victim was identified by family members as 22-year old Jesse Allen Geoghahan.
On October 29, the ECSO responded to the 1000 block of Medford Avenue where they found Geoghahan. with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Blackburn contacted the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office to report that he had been shot inside the residence.
Bonner allegedly gave Colville the gun used in the murder. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Colville shot Geoghagan twice inside a closet, before shooting him a “few more times” as he limped out of the bedroom.
They fled in a stolen 1996 Toyota Avalon, which was later found burning under the Mobile Highway Bridge over Eleven Mile Creek.
A security system in the residence captured the murder, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Gonzalez Farm Share Thanksgiving Food Distribution Is Saturday
November 10, 2022
Rep. Michelle Salzman, Farm Share and other community partners are sponsoring a Thanksgiving food distribution on Saturday, November 12 in Gonzalez.
The event begins at 8 a.m. and will continue while supplies last (minimum of 300 families) at the Gonzalez United Methodist Church.
“Feeding the community has been one of our office’s top priorities. The north end of our county has many unique challenges, one being the lack of access to community-based resources. Providing a Thanksgiving meal to our families will be a much-needed blessing this holiday season,” Salzman said.
The food distribution will include fresh food from Farm Share, a donated whole chicken from The Butcher Shoppe, and the traditional holiday sides such as cranberry sauce, corn, stuffing, green beans and more.
The distribution is made possible by partners including Escambia County Commissioner Steven Barry, Florida Power & Light, International Paper, Tyler Kercher with State Farm, Aaron Erskine, A Foundation for Hope and more.
This Thanksgiving food distribution site will be drive-thru with a designated space for walk-up. Vehicles may line up no earlier than 7:30 a.m. on the day of the event. To volunteer, call volunteer coordinator Jennifer Harrison at (850) 741-6024 or email Jennifer.Harrison@myfloridahouse.gov.

Governor Ron DeSantis Gets Landslide Victory Over Charlie Crist
November 9, 2022
Gov. Ron DeSantis was reelected to a second term in a landslide victory over Democratic Charlie Crist on Tuesday.
With almost 100% of precincts reporting late Tuesday night, DeSantis and lieutenant governor running mate Jeanette Nuñez had 59.5% of the vote to 39.9% for Crist. DeSantis’ lead of nearly 20 percentage points was the largest margin of victory ever for a Florida Republican governor.
“The woke agenda has caused millions of Americans to leave these jurisdictions for greener pastures,” DeSantis said during a victory speech. “Now this great exodus of Americans, for those folks, Florida for so many of them has served as the Promised Land. We have embraced freedom. We have maintained law and order. We have protected the rights of parents. We have respected our taxpayers and we reject woke ideology…We will never ever surrender to the woke mob. Florida is where woke goes to die.”
“Unfortunately, tonight did not turn out the way we hoped,” Crist said in an emailed statement. “Together, we stood up for our democracy and our freedoms, and we treated everyone with dignity and respect. I am very proud of that – and you should be, too. I was welcomed into your homes and businesses, from Pensacola to Miami, from Jacksonville to Tampa.”
