The Tate Aggies volleyball team fell to the visiting Gulf Breeze Dolphins 3-1 Wednesday night.
The Dolphins secured the varsity win with set scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-21, and 25-17.

October Hunter Safety Courses Set For Molino, Cantonment, Jay, Milton

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is offering free hunter safety internet-completion courses during October Molino, Cantonment, Jay and Milton. Hunter safety courses are designed to help students become safe, responsible and knowledgeable hunters and learn about conservation.
Participants must take the online course before attending a class.
All firearms, ammunition and materials are provided free of charge. Students should bring a pen or pencil and paper. An adult must accompany children younger than 16 at all times.
Anyone born on or after June 1, 1975, must pass an approved hunter safety course and have a hunting license to hunt alone (unsupervised). The FWC course satisfies hunter-safety training requirements for all other states and Canadian provinces.
The two-day events will be held as follows, and you must have completed an online hunter safety course and have a copy of the completion certificate or field day voucher prior to taking a Range Day (listed bottom).

Cantonment Man Faces Felony Grand Theft Charges Over Garage Door Deal

A Cantonment man was arrested on a grand theft felony charge following a months-long investigation by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office into an alleged failure to provide services after receiving a large deposit.
Robert Anthony Turley, 38, of Winners Circle in Cantonment, was taken into custody after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He is charged with grand theft between $5,000 and $10,000 for an alleged incident that occurred earlier this year.
According to an ECSO arrest report, the victim reported contracting with Turley of RTS All American Garage Doors, in March of 2025 for the installation of a new garage door. Turley allegedly presented a contract totaling $22,000, and a deposit check of $12,000 was given to him by on March 24, 2025, to begin the work.
The report states that the agreement stipulated the installation would be completed within eight to twelve weeks. However, the ECSO investigation found that between March and August, the work was never started at the residence located on Hesperia Way, nor was the deposit money returned to the customer.
The victim reportedly provided the Sheriff’s Office with a written demand letter sent to Turley and copies of certified mail receipts.
Turley was released from the Escambia County Jail on an $8,000 bond.
FDLE Arrests Five In Escambia County In Spice Drug Trafficking Organization Investigation

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has arrest five Escambia County residents in connection to a drug trafficking organization (DTO) selling “Spice,” an artificial drug to simulate the effects of THC.
The investigation began in December2020 in reference to a larger narcotics investigation from Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. Through undercover investigations, agents identified Kendrick Jermaine Johnson, 44, as an active supplier in the drug trafficking organization.
Last week, FDLE Pensacola agents and Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a search warrant at Johnson’s residence. Agents recovered approximately one pound of Spice, 19 pounds of chemical powder used to create synthetic cannabis, three (3) firearms, and $36,845.97 in U.S currency. Johnson was placed under arrest for charges of conspiracy to commit racketeering, trafficking synthetic cannabinoids (spice), and the unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
FDLE said through additional investigation, four additional suspects were charged and arrested last week in connection to the spice trafficking ring:
- Kaitlynn Elizabeth Parks, 28, conspiracy to commit racketeering; trafficking synthetic cannabinoids (spice); possession of marijuana with intent to sell, manufacture, and/or deliver; unlawful use of a two-way communication device
- James Kenneth Richardson III, 29, conspiracy to commit racketeering; trafficking synthetic cannabinoids (spice); possession of marijuana with intent to sell, manufacture, and/or deliver; unlawful use of a two-way communication device
- Candace Michelle Clayberger, 45, conspiracy to commit racketeering; trafficking synthetic cannabinoids (spice); possession of marijuana with intent to sell, manufacture, and/or deliver; unlawful use of a two-way communication device
- Adam Chad Clayberger, 37, conspiracy to commit racketeering; trafficking synthetic cannabinoids (spice); possession of marijuana with intent to sell, manufacture, and/or deliver; unlawful use of a two-way communication device, tampering with evidence
Johnson was released from Escambia County Jail on a $70,000 bond, and Parks was released from jail on $240,000 bond. Candance Clayberger remained in jail with bond set a $240,000, while Adam Calyberger was jailed with bond set at $260,000.

Mobile Dental Unit Schedules Regular Visits to Century

The Community Health Northwest Florida (CHNWF) mobile dental unit will begin making regular visits to the town of Century starting in November, and appointments are being accepted now.
The first mobile dental day in Century is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 24, at Community Health on Industrial Boulevard. Dates for additional visits will be announced at a later time.
“The dental department is excited to once again provide much-needed dental consults, exams and cleanings to the citizens of Century, utilizing our mobile dental unit,” said Dr. Gabriel Hernandez, DDS who also serves as chief dental officer. “We look forward to providing much-needed dental access to a population with limited options for dental care.”
Essentially a portable dentist office on wheels, the dental unit has the capability of providing multiple chairs for basic dental examinations and cleaning. It’ll be working outside of the CHNWF Century office at 6021 Industrial Boulevard, off Highway 4.
Smiley said arrangements will be made for anyone that needs more complicated dental work at one of the CHNWF offices.

“Our mobile dental unit benefits our community by making quality healthcare more affordable and accessible, which in turn improves patient outcomes,” said Chandra Smiley, CEO of CHNWF. “Providing access to dental care in Century is a perfect example of what a mobile unit can do to overcome healthcare barriers, especially among vulnerable populations and in rural communities without easy access to healthcare facilities.”

Northview JV Sweeps Escambia Gators While Varsity Falls In Five (With Gallery)

The Northview Chiefs took on the Escambia Gators on Tuesday in Bratt, with the Chiefs junior varsity winning in two sets and the NHS varsity slipping in five.
Escambia 3, Northview 2
The Gators took the varsity match 3-2, winning the last three sets 25-18, 25-23, and 15-12. Northview won the first two sets of the five-set match, 25-23, 25-15.
Up next, the Northview Chiefs will be at the Pensacola Tigers on Thursday.

The Northview Chiefs beat the Gators 2-0 in a two-set sweep with scores of 25-17, 25-18.

Four Charged In State Drug Bust Outside Atmore Prison

Four people were arrested on drug charges near Fountain Correctional Facility in Atmore, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC).
Haleigh Baskin, Jermain Fitzpatrick, Nazaree Haslam, and Amber Crawford were each charged with two counts of attempting to commit a controlled substance crime, possession of marijuana first degree, prohibited activities, and possession of synthetic cannabinoids. Crawford was also charged with possession of a controlled substance (ecstasy), while Haslam was also charged with false identity to obstruct justice. Both Haslam and Baskin had additional warrants from other agencies.
Last Saturday, an ADOC K-9 officer conducted a traffic stop near Fountain Correctional Facility. Upon approaching the vehicle, the agent noticed a strong odor of marijuana.
A vehicle search led to the discovery of a T-shirt launcher and a large amount of contraband narcotics and cell phones, according to ADOC.
Officials said contraband that was seized included:
- eight cell phones
- 248 grams of marijuana
- 30 grams synthetic cannabinoids
Officials said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.

Aggies Prevail In Five-Set Varsity Thriller Over Catholic

The Tate Aggies volleyball program had a night of mixed results on the road against the Pensacola Catholic Crusaders, with the Varsity squad winning a thrilling five-set marathon while the underclassmen fell in their respective contests.
Tate 3, Catholic 3
The Tate Aggies Varsity team defeated the Catholic Crusaders in an intense five-set battle, coming away with a 3-2 victory. Tate had the Crusaders on their heels early, winning a tight first set 25-21. Catholic responded by taking the second set 25-22 to even the match.
The Aggies regained the momentum with a dominant 25-18 win in the third set. However, Catholic refused to go quietly, forcing a decisive fifth set after a 25-20 victory in the fourth. In the dramatic finale, Tate found a way to clinch the victory, edging out the Crusaders 18-16 to take the match 3-2.
Up next, the Aggies will host Gulf Breeze on Wednesday.

The Tate Junior Varsity team fell to Catholic in two sets, losing the first 25-19 and the second 25-21 for a 2-0 final.
