Wildy Alvoid Boutwell

December 2, 2025

Mr. Wildy Alvoid Boutwell, who was 88 years old, sadly passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his beloved family. He was originally from Flomaton, Alabama, and had spent many years living in Atmore, Alabama. His life was filled with love and memories shared with those closest to him. He loved his job and never missed a day of work unless someone else was having surgery or a family funeral.

He was a man who cherished his grandchildren and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved to spend his days hunting and fishing, relishing the time spent outdoors. Each morning, he would feed his cow with a smile, enjoying her gentle company. In the evenings, he’d settle down to watch his favorite westerns, a twinkle in his eye as he got lost in the stories. He often said, “Ya’ll be particular on that road,” reminding everyone to tread carefully and appreciate the journey, just like he did.

Mr. Boutwell is preceded in death by his parents, Jefferson Davis and Ora Jane Lynch Boutwell; two sisters, Beatrice Emmons and Hazel Walston; brothers, J L Boutwell, Herman Boutwell, Floyd Boutwell, Jimmy Boutwell, Buddy Boutwell and Chester Boutwell.

He is survived by his son, Charles (Becky) Ward of Atmore, Alabama; daughters, Wanda (Ray) Lewis of Cantonment, Florida, Lucinda “Cindy” (Bubba) Tedder of Atmore, Alabama; brother, Aaron Coy (Diane) Boutwell of Flomaton, Alabama; sisters, Marie (Buddy) McMillian of Brewton, Alabama and Melba (Junior) Lambeth of Atmore, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Jessica Sawyer, Lisa (Jeremy) McGhee, Richey (Cassie) Tedder, Sissy (Alex) Rolin, Jacob Tedder, Adrienne (Braxton) Tedder, Chrissy (T.J.) Allen, and Joshua Lewis; thirteen great-grandchildren, Camden, Lagan, Emily, Izzy, Londyn, Ryder, Kayleigh, Mathieu, Kamryn, Sean, Russell, Delaney, and Trinity; one great-great grandchild, Baileigh.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Petty Funeral Homes, with Sister Cathy Stophel and Reverend Ricky Tedder officiating.

Burial will follow at Traveler’s Rest Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Petty Funeral Homes.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy McGhee, Richey Tedder, Alex Rolin, Jacob Tedder, Joshua Lewis, and Lagan Rolin.
