https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/blog/warning-shots/. One needs to understand the use of deadly force before carrying. a weapon. There are many ex-military trained individual who for one reason or another are on the wrong side along with drug crazed citizens needing money for the next fix. A gun may not deter these. The best is to introduce one as the last resort. First option, Get out and call the law. Loosing a gun fight is not a good option. Once the gun is out shoot for center of chest. If you do not like the idea of hurting or killing an intruder, sell gun. A person breaking into a home should assume to be unstable. Logic will not work. Do not depend on the fear factor of a firearm. Home owner is probably more afraid than intruder. Have a plan for home defense.
