Northview Grad Fletcher Signs With German Pro Football Team

A 2015 Northview High School graduate is fulfilling his dream to play professional football.

Ray Fletcher of Century signed Thursday to play American-style football for the Minden Wolves in Minden, Germany.

“Words can’t explain how I feel,” Fletcher said.

Fletcher is currently a junior playing for NCAA Division II Bluefield State University in Bluefield, West Virginia.

Tate Girls Tennis Defeats Washington

Tate Aggies Pep Rally Celebrates Winter Sports (With Photo Gallery)

Tate High School held a pep rally Wednesday to celebrate the successes of their winter sports, along with a send-off for the boy’s basketball team as they head to the 6A regional quarterfinals.

Sports recognized included the cheerleading squad, boys and girls soccer, boys and girls weightlifting, and boys and girls basketball.

Pep rally events included a winter sport relay race’ a teacher competition of heads, shoulders, knees and cups; a basketball play dance-off; and a schoolwide rock, paper, scissors competition.

The Tate Showband of the South ended the pep rally by winning the P-A-R-T-Y Spirit Stick Challenge.

Tate Aggie Cheerleaders Take 10th In The Nation

The Tate High School Aggie Cheerleaders competition team placed 10th in the nation Sunday at the 2023 UCA National High School Cheerleading Championships in Orlando.

There were 113 total teams that competed in the small varsity division with the Aggies.

Tate Boys Basketball Moves Into 6A State Series

February 13, 2023

The Tate Aggies have earned a bid in the FHSAA Class 6A state championship series.

In Class 6A Region 1 quarterfinals, the No. 6 Tate Aggies  (18-5) will travel about 360 miles to Orange Park to face the No. 3 Oakleaf Knights (23-1) at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Also, No. 4 Gulf Breeze (22-3) will host No. 5 Nease (18-18) at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Gulf Breeze Tops Tate 77-64 For District Crown

The Gulf Breeze Dolphins claimed the 6A District 1 basketball championship Friday night with a 77-64 win over the Tate Aggies.

Lucas Williams had a game-high 21 points for the Aggies.

Tate Aggies Advance To District Title Game With 55-50 Win Over Crestview (With Gallery)

The Tate Aggies will face the Gulf Breeze Dolphins for the 6A District 1 basketball championship.

Wednesday night, the No. 2 seed  Tate Aggies beat Crestview 55-50 in Cantonment. Crestview held a 35-28 lead at the end of the second period, but the Aggies outscored Crestview in the final two.

Also Wednesday night, No. 1 seed Gulf Breeze Dolphins knocked off Pace 49-41.

Gulf Breeze (21-3) will host Tate (18-4) Friday at 7 p.m. for the district title.

Regional 6A Soccer: Chiles Tops Tate 2-0 In Tallahassee

February 9, 2023

The Chiles Timberwolves defeated the Tate Aggies 2-0 in regional 6A soccer action Wednesday night in Tallahassee.

The Aggies finished their season at No. 2 in District 1 6A with a record of 10-4-3.

On February 11, Chiles will host Niceville and Gulf Breeze will travel to Gainesville as the regional tourney continues.

Wahoos Stadium To Host Tate, Northview In High School, College Series

High school and college baseball are returning to Blue Wahoos Stadium.

The high school baseball schedule at Blue Wahoo Stadium will begin on Saturday, February 25 when Baker High will take on Pensacola High, followed by West Florida High and Milton on March 9. The high school series will return March 23 through March 27, including Tate and South Walton High on March 23 at 7 p.m., Northview versus Jay on March 24 at 4 p.m., and Tate versus Arnold at 7:00 on March 24.

Eight teams will take part in a 29 game college series between March 14 and March 23. The tournament will feature UW-Whitewater (Wisconsin), Spalding University (Kentucky), Carroll University (Wisconsin), Edgewood College (Wisconsin), UW-Platteville (Wisconsin), Grinnell College (Iowa), Hendrix College (Arkansas), and Birmingham Southern College (Alabama).

“Blue Wahoos Stadium is a community ballpark and we’re thrilled to provide local high school players a full professional baseball experience under the lights as well as showcase our beautiful community to collegiate athletes from across the country,” general manager Steve Brice said. “We can’t wait to have the best fans in baseball back at Blue Wahoos Stadium throughout February and March as we prepare for Blue Wahoos Opening Day on April 7.”
