10,000 Pound Food Giveaway This Afternoon In Cantonment
June 28, 2022
The Cantonment Improvement Committee will hold a drive-thru 10,000 pound food giveaway Tuesday afternoon at Carver Park on Webb Street.
The food distribution will begin at 3:30 p.m. and continue while supplies last for anyone in need of food. People should line up their vehicles, single file on Webb Street facing north; food will be loaded into vehicles. Identification is required.
If the weather is too hot or storming, distribution may begin “a little earlier,” according to organizers.

FDOH Escambia Offers Free HIV Testing On Monday

In observance of National HIV Testing Day (NHTD), the Florida Department of Health in Escambia County will offering testing in two locations on Monday.
HIV testing will be available at:
- University of West Florida Commons (Bldg. 22), second floor in room 259, 265, and 268 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
- Walgreens, 700 North Pace Boulevard on the FDOH-Escambia mobile unit from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Testing at both locations is for individuals age 13 or above.

Local law enforcement agencies and fire departments are on strike through Friday — from doughnuts.
The first responders have vowed not to devour a single doughnut until they finish work on their goal to collect truckloads of food for Manna food pantries.
First responders will be accepting grocery donations from the today from 3-6 p.m. at the following locations:
- Winn-Dixie, 1550 South Highway 29, Cantonment
- Publix, 8684 Beulah Road, Beulah
- Sam’s Club, 1250 Airport Boulevard, Pensacola
- Walmart, 2650 Creighton Road, Pensacola
