Jay Royals Top Tate; Tate Aggies JV Shuts Out Jay

The Jay Royals defeated the Tate Lady Aggies 8-6 on Friday night in Cantonment.

Cadee Carroll earned the win for the Lady Royals, giving up five hits and six runs (five earned) in six innings, striking out seven and walking two.

Sarah Mitchell took the loss for the Aggies, going four innings, allowing seven runs (four earned) on two hits, striking out five and walking five. Faith Middleton tossed three innings, surrendering two hits and an unearned run, striking out none and walking none.

Ella Samford led at the plate for Jay with two RBIs, while Melanie Kelley went 2-4.

Brelynn Morris led the Aggies at the plate with two hits and two runs, and Kaylie Mitchell drove in two runs.

Tate 15, Jay 0

In junior varsity action, the Tate Aggies shut out the Jay Royals 15-0 on Friday.

Bailey Parden earned the win for Tate, allowing one hit and no runs while striking out two in two innings. Kaitlyn Stefanko went for one inning, walking two and recording no hits and no runs.

Henlie Machat took the loss for Jay. In one inning, she surrendered seven hits and 15 runs while walking seven and striking out one.

Kaitlyn Stefanko drove in four runs on two hits to lead Tate, including a two-run single in the first and a two-run double in the second.

Sarah Mitchell Throws No-Hitter, Morris Homers As Tate Beats Escambia 20-0

Sarah Mitchell pitched a no-hitter as the Tate Lady Aggies destroyed the Escambia Gators 20-0 on Thursday night at Escambia.

Brelynn Morris hit a two-run home run to left field as the Aggies took an early 4-0 lead in the top of the first. Tate scored 10 runs in the top of the fourth on the way to the mercy rule win.

Mitchell, a sophomore, struck out nine and walked just one in four innings in the circle. Mitchell and Ke’Anna Smith each had three hits for the Lady Aggies. Carmen Morris and Brelynn Morris each added two. The Aggies recorded nine walks.

Friday night, the Tate Lady Aggies will host the Jay Royals in Cantonment.

Northview Celebrates Senior Night With 3-1 Win Over Destin

The Northview Chiefs celebrated senior night with a 3-1 win over the visiting Destin Sharks.

Starting pitcher Grayson Burns earned the win for the Chiefs, surrendering four hits and one unearned rn in five and two-thirds innings, while striking out nine and walking one. Bryant Mason pitched one and one-third innings with no hits and no runs, walking two and striking out three.

Hubbard and Sappington Combine for Eight Goals As Tate Lacrosse Overpowers PHS

The Tate Aggies girls lacrosse team earned a dominant 12-4 road victory over the Pensacola High Tigers on Thursday,.

The Aggies established control early, ending the first half with a narrow 3-2 lead. However, Tate broke the game open in the second half, outscoring the Tigers 9-2 to seal the win.

The Aggies’ offense was led by seniors Taelyn Hubbard and Tori Sappington, who each found the back of the net four times. Hubbard added an assist to finish with a team-high five points. Junior Kira Bigalow also had a multi-goal performance with two scores and an assist. Other goals were contributed by I. McNeill and Trinity Torres.

Defensively, the Aggies were anchored by sophomore Ashlee Edgar, who recorded four saves to limit the Tigers’ scoring opportunities. Tate’s aggressive play was reflected in their 29 shots on goal compared to Pensacola High’s limited offensive production.

The victory marks a season sweep for Tate over the Tigers, following a 16-2 win earlier in February.

Up next, the Aggies will travel to Milton on Monday.

Womack And Day Homer As Northview Falls At Pace

The Northview Lady Chiefs dropped a road contest to Pace 10-3 on Thursday night.

Mikayla McAnally went for five innings in the circle, allowing five hits and seven runs (three earned), walking one and striking out four. Peyton Womack pitched one inning, surrendering two hits and three runs, walking one.

Peyton Womack had a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to right field. In the seventh inning, Daviona Randolph hit a solo home run to left field.

McAnally, Womack, and Daviona Randolph each had one hit and one RBI, while Riley Brooks added one hit.

Northview will host Milton at 5 p.m. on Friday.

Freshmen Baseball: WFHS Defeats Tate

West Florida 5, Tate 1 (Freshmen)

TheWest Florida High School Freshmen Jaguars defeated the Tate Aggies 5-1 on Wednesday night.

Chandler Goins earned the win for West Florida Freshmen, giving up one hit on one unearned run in six innings, walking three and striking out eight. Brayden Luciano took the loss for Tate, giving up four runs (three earned) on six hits in five innings, walking two and striking out one.

Goins, Carson Howell, and Griffin King each had two hits for the Jaguar freshmen. Goins and Chase Gilmore each recorded one RBI.

Jackson Turner went 1–2 with one RBI for the Freshmen Aggies.

Northview Chiefs Shut Out The Baker Gators (With Gallery)

The Northview Chiefs shut out the Baker Gators 10-0 on Tuesday night.

Mikayla McAnally started in the circle for the Lady Chiefs, allowing two hits and no runs in four innings, striking out nine and walking just one. Daviona Randolph pitched two shutout innings in relief.

Randolph was a force at the plate, going 3-4 on the night with two RBIs. Riley Brooks, Kylee Langham, and Avery Stucky each added two RBIs for Northview.

It was Teacher Appreciation Night for the Lady Chiefs, as players honored their favorite educators.

Tate Grad Wine Named Sun Belt Softball Player Of The Week

Tate High School graduate Kara Wine was recenthly named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week.

Wine, a freshman, was instrumental in helping South Alabama post a 3-1 record, including a Sun Belt series sweep of in-state rival Troy.

In her four outings, Wine led the club with a .500 batting average and reached base safely in seven of her 12 plate appearances while drawing a pair of walks. The freshman catcher drove in five runs, homered twice and posted three extra-base hits, as she had at least one hit and one RBI in each game.

Against ninth-ranked Florida State, Wine went 2-for-2 with a home run, a double and a walk. In the series against Troy, she broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the fifth inning with a two-out, RBI-single in the Jags’ 3-2.

In a 7-0 win, Wine lined a bases-loaded, two-run single up the middle in the top of the first inning. Behind the plate, she helped the Jaguar pitching staff secure its conference-leading eighth shutout of the season. In Sunday’s 5-4 victory, Wine’s sixth-inning home run provided insurance and proved to be the game-winning run.

NHS Grad Ragsdale Named ACCC DII Softball Player Of The Week

Northview High graduate Chloe Ragsdale has been named the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) Division II Softball Player of the Week.

Ragsdale is a sophomore catcher for the Lurleen B. Wallace Community College (LBW) Saints has one home run, three RBIs, and after her first four games of the season.

Ragsdale is a 2024 Northview High School honors graduate.

The Pace Patriots defeated Yukon (OK) 5-3 on Thursday night to claim the 31st Annual Aggie Classic Championship.

The Tate Aggies were down by five runs after three innings, but rallied Thursday night to beat the Blanchard (OK) Lions 6-5 on the final night of the Aggie Classic.

Hunter Clayton earned the win for Tate, giving up two hits and one unearned run in five innings, striking out seven and walking two. Keelan Beasley was first on the mound for the Aggies, surrendering three hits and four runs (three earned) in two innings, walking two and striking out five.

Nathan Connors went 2-3 with three RBIs, and Cal Foxworth went 2-3 with one RBI.

Next week, the Aggies return to action on Tuesday at Washington at 7 p.m.
