Escambia Records Another COVID-19 Death, 38 New Cases; Florida Breaks Daily Record Again

Another COVID-19 death and 38 new positive cases were reported Friday in Escambia County, as Florida again set a new record high for the most cases reported in a single day.

The death was an 82-year old long-term care facility resident.

The number of cases in Escambia County is now 1,127 and Santa Rosa County increased by 11 to 330.

Of the 41 deaths in Escambia County, 32 have been long-term care facility residents or staff. There have been nine deaths in Santa Rosa County, seven of those at the Blackwater River Correctional Facility and none in long-term care facilities.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Florida jumped by 3,822 on Friday, a record for a daily increase.

Statewide, there were 89,748 cases including 87,643 Florida residents. There have been 12,774 hospitalizations* and 3,104 deaths. The Florida Department of Health does not have a clear standard or definition of “recovered” and does not report a number of recovered individuals.

Two More COVID-19 Deaths, 37 New Cases In Escambia County; Florida Sets New Single Day Increase Record

Two more COVID-19 deaths and 37 new positive cases were reported Thursday in Escambia County, as Florida once again set a new record high for the most cases reported in a single day.

The deaths were a 76-year old male and a 92-year old female, both of which were long-term care facility residents.

The number of cases in Escambia County is now 1,089, and Santa Rosa County increased by 14 to 319.

Of the 40 deaths in Escambia County, 31 have been long-term care facility residents or staff. There have been nine deaths in Santa Rosa County, seven of those at the Blackwater River Correctional Facility and none in long-term care facilities.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Florida jumped by 3,207 on Thursday, a new record for a daily increase.

Statewide, there were 85,926 cases including 83,854 Florida residents. There have been 12,577 hospitalizations* and 3,061 deaths. The Florida Department of Health does not have a clear standard or definition of “recovered” and does not report a number of recovered individuals.

The Escambia County Mosquito Control Divisions plans to spray Wednesday night in areas of District 2 and District 5.

In District 5, the area is general east of Highway 95A Chemstrand Road, and East Kingsfield Road north to south of Becks Lake Road. Click the map above to enlarge.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Escambia County increased by 32 in the Wednesday report from the Florida Department of Health.

The number of cases in Escambia County increased by is now 1,052 , and Santa Rosa County increased by eight to 305.

Of the 38 deaths in Escambia County, 29 have been long-term care facility residents or staff. There have been nine deaths in Santa Rosa County, seven of those at the Blackwater River Correctional Facility and none in long-term care facilities.

Escambia County Tops 1,000 COVID-19 Cases; State Sets Another Daily Case Increase Record

The number of COVID-19 cases in Escambia County topped 1,000 Tuesday as the state set another record for daily case increases.

The Florida Department of Health reported 2,783 new COVID-19 cases across the state, a record for a single-day increase.

The number of cases in Escambia County increased by 21 to 1,021 , and Santa Rosa County increased by four to 297.

Of the 38 deaths in Escambia County, 29 have been long-term care facility residents or staff. There have been nine deaths in Santa Rosa County, seven of those at the Blackwater River Correctional Facility and none in long-term care facilities.

Statewide, there were 80,109 cases including 78,128 Florida residents. There have been 12,206 hospitalizations* and 2,993 deaths. The Florida Department of Health does not have a clear standard or definition of “recovered” and does not report a number of recovered individuals.

The number of cases in Escambia County is now 999, and Santa Rosa County increased by two to 293.
