Walnut Hill VFD Fish Fry Is This Saturday

The Walnut Hill Volunteer Fire Department will host their 53rd annual fish fry on Saturday.
The fish fry will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Walnut Hill Fire Station at 7760 Highway 97, just north of Ernest Ward Middle School.
Plates will be $12 each with a choice of grilled catfish, fried catfish or grilled chicken, plus baked beans, coleslaw, homemade bread and homemade desserts. There will also be a drawing for door prizes throughout the event.
The Big Red Bus will also be on hand for blood donations.

Tonight’s Powerball Jackpot Is Now A Staggering $1.2 Billion

The prize in tonight’s Powerball has soared to a massive $1.2 billion.
In addition to the jackpot, players have the chance to win non-jackpot prizes ranging from $4 to $2 million by matching other number combinations.
The Powerball jackpot has rolled 37 times since the August 6 drawing.
Walnut Hill 5,000 Pound Food Distribution Set For Friday Morning
November 2, 2022
A 5,000 pound food giveaway will be held Friday in Walnut Hill.
Justified Incarcerated Ministries will host the 9 a.m. Feeding the Gulf Coast drive-thru distribution at Bradberry Park at 4760 Highway 99A, just behind Ernest Ward Middle School.
The food giveaway is sponsored by Escambia County District 5 Commissioner Steven Barry.
Volunteers are needed; call Joan at (850) 324-8779.

Lane Closures Tonight On Highway 29 At Pine Barren Creek Bridge
November 2, 2022
Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 4 a.m. Thursday on the Highway 29 bridge over Pine Barren Creek.
The lane closures will be for routine bridge maintenance, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
The bridge on Highway 29 is located between North Barth Road and Cotton Lake Road, or about seven mile north of the Highway 97 intersection in Molino.

Over 16,400 Ballots Cast As Early Voting Continues In Escambia County
October 31, 2022
Over 16,000 early votes had been cast in Escambia County as of Sunday.
In addition to 16,407 early votes, another 22,248 had returned a vote-by-mail ballot. That put Escambia County’s voter turnout at 17.34% with 38,855 votes cast to date in the general election.
The Genealogy Library site has been the busiest with 3,511 voters so far, followed by the Extension Office in Cantonment with 3,229 and the Southwest Library with 3,058. There have been 1,086 ballots cast at the Molino Library and 117 at the Billy G. Ward Courthouse in Century.
A total of 10 early voting sites are open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Saturday, November 5:
