ECUA Reports 5,500 Gallon Sewage Spill On Pine Forest Road In Cantonment

UPDATE: On Monday, ECUA updated the total volume of the spill to 5,500 gallons, with 5,300 gallons recovered with vacuum trucks.

The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) reported a sanitary sewer overflow on Sunday on Pine Forest Road in Cantonment.

The 1,000 gallon spill was due to a broken force main in the 2800 block of Pine Forest Road, just south of West Roberts Road, according to a report filed with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

The spill occurred between 2-8 p.m. on Sunday.

After crews recovered the remains of the spill, they cleaned and sprayed the area with biocide, according to ECUA.

Ransom Middle Students Enjoy PBIS Holiday Celebration

Ransom Middle School celebrated student achievement lst week with a PBIS Holiday event designed to reward positive behavior.

Students donned festive reindeer antlers and holiday lights while gathering to decorate wooden ornaments and stars.

Along with the crafts, students enjoyed a cookies and refreshments.

Letters To Santa From Bratt Elementary Second Graders

Annual Christmas Parade Held In Beulah (With Gallery)

Crowds lined miles of roadways around Beulah Saturday afternoon for the annual Beulah Christmas Parade.

Parade goers enjoyed plenty of throws and entries that included the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, the Beulah Station of Escambia Fire Rescue, churches and community organizations, along with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Goats In Pajamas, Acres Of Christmas Lights, Hayride And More At Bratt Ranch

The Runamuck Ranch in Bratt has tens of thousands of Christmas lights, and you are invited to stop by and see them, take a hayride, enjoy a warm fire and treats, and more.

And see the goats in pajamas, including twin boys born about a week ago.

The lights display will be open Tuesday, Christmas, and Friday from 5:30 until 9 p.m.

Nestled on three or four acres in the woods off Rigby Road, the display is walk-through (not a drive-through). Admission and parking are free, but donations are accepted.

Visitors walk a short distance from the parking lot down a lighted path and cross a small foot bridge into the Christmas wonderland. It’s in an open, park-like setting with lots of lights, inflatables, and other displays.

Concessions are available — hot cocoa, S’mores, popcorn, nachos, hot dogs, water and coffee including lattes and Americanos. There are picnic tables and lounge chairs

Runamuck Ranch is located at 4951 Rigby Road in Bratt (about 1.5 miles from Bratt Elementary). Take Still Road south off West Highway 4 turn left on Rigby Road and look for the signs and lights. (We found that Google Maps was a bit off on the location; click here for a map to the driveway.)
