Atmore Police Seeking ‘Armed And Dangerous’ Suspect For Shooting Death Of Teen

The Atmore Police Department is searching for a suspect they say shot and killed a local teenager as he sat in a vehicle Friday afternoon.
Rodarious Tyrig Dailey, age 22 of Atmore, is wanted for murder and should be considered armed and dangerous, according to police.
Just before 4:30 p.m. Friday, the Atmore Police Department received a 911 call reporting that one person had been shot at 163 Harris Street. Atmore officers arrived to find the 17-year old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body area, according to Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks.
The teen was transported by ambulance to Atmore Community Hospital where he later died.
Witnesses told police that the Atmore teen was sitting in the back seat of a vehicle parked at the residence when a lone suspect entered the property. Police were told the gunman then fired into the car, striking the victim.

Freeze Warning For Monday Night, Low In The Lower 20s

There is a freeze warning in effect in effect for the North Escambia area for Monday night, with temperatures as low as 25 degrees expected.
Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
To prevent freezing and possible damage to outdoor water pipes, they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

Anhydrous Ammonia And Nitric Oxide Leak For Hours From Ascend After Power Outage, FDEP Says

An unknown amount of anhydrous ammonia and nitric oxide were released into the air at the Ascend Performance Materials plant in Gonzalez following a power outage.
At 11:50 p.m. Friday, the power failed at the plant on Old Chemstrand Road due to an equipment failure.
That led to the release of anhydrous ammonia at the chemical facility for over three hours, according to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
The power failure also led to the release of nitric oxide from a thermal reduction unit, according to FDEP. The leak was ongoing as of 6:44 p.m. Saturday, according to FDEP.
Nitric oxide and anhydrous ammonia can both be harmful or fatal if inhaled in high concentrations. There was no indication that leaks at Ascend presented any danger outside the plant, and there were no injuries reported.

It’s turning much colder next week with temperatures plunging into the upper 20s in Escambia County north of I-10.
There will be some showers for Saturday, but Sunday looks like a total washout. There is also a chance of severe showers and storms on Sunday.
Monday and Tuesday will bring winter like temperatures, with highs in the low 50s and those cold nights around 29 (a little warmer closer toward the coast).

Atmore Man Murdered, Police Searching For Suspect

One man was shot and killed in Atmore Friday afternoon, and police are continuing to search for a suspect.
Just before 4:30 p.m. the Atmore Police Department received a 911 call reporting that one person had been shot at 163 Harris Street. Atmore officers arrived to find the male victim suffering from a gunshot wound, according to Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks.
The male victim was transported by ambulance to Atmore Community Hospital where he later passed away.
“Atmore Police has identified a person of interest and is currently seeking his whereabouts,” Brooks said.
Further information has not been released as the investigation continues.
