Allen Jerome ‘Ace’ Holland

Mr. Allen Jerome “Ace” Holland, age 65, of Byrneville, FL; passed away, Sunday, January 28, 2024 in Mobile, AL. He was a native of Byrneville, FL. He was a mechanic with the County Commissioners Office with many years of service.
Mr. Holland loved fishing on the river. All the ones that knew him, knew him as “Ace” and he got a lot of enjoyment by playing cards. He always helped people out from putting down flooring to fixing a broken-down vehicle. He was the first one to offer help, but the last one to ask for it. He loved gardening and growing fruit trees.e awas an a He had a very contagious and distinctive laugh to being a very good cook and making the best fudge. He enjoyed dancing and also enjoyed sitting around watching a good western.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Judy Faye Holland Blackman, two brothers, Eric Amerson and Stephen “Bo” McDowell.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Shelia Holland, of Byrneville, FL; one son, Dustin (Sandee) Holland, of Milton, FL; one daughter, Aimee (Jeremy) Clements, of Deatsville, AL; one brother, Mark Holland, of Byrneville, FL; one sister, Wendy Wilson, of Canoe, AL; eleven grandchildren, Logan Clements, Madyson Clements, Anyise Cabral, Emilee Cabral, Ashlynn Cabral, Gracie Clements, Elijah Clements, Kristen Mokher, Eric Cili, Ava Long, D J Long; in laws, Melba (Buster) Townson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral homes, LLC. with Rev. Howard Holland officiating.
Burial will follow at Christian Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 6:00 PM until service time at 10:00 AM at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Johnson, Stephen Holland, Chase Amerson, Sheldon Robbins, Dan Morris, and Pete Amerson.

Carole Bondurant Hamilton, age 78, of Atmore, AL passed away on January 28, 2024. She was born on April 7, 1945 in Flomaton, AL to Joseph L. and Bertha Hammac Bondurant. She was a Machine Operator with Vanity Fair
Corporation until she retired and a member of Jubilee Full Gospel Church in Brewton, AL. She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Joseph Leon Smith and her siblings, Curtis Bondurant, Evelyn Gilley, J.L. Bondurant,
Gene Bondurant, Edward Ross, and Walter Ross.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Donald Hamilton; her children, Jeff (Laura) Taylor of Flomaton, AL, Mike (Shannon) Taylor of Flomaton, AL, James (Peggy) Hamilton of Richland, WA, Kay (Reo) Pugh of Flomaton,
AL and Dana (Todd) Vickrey of Atmore, AL; 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 18, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Jubilee Full Gospel Church, 4501 Highway 41, Brewton, AL.

Mrs. Wanda Diane Johnson, age 72, passed away, Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in Brewton, AL. She was born, January 17, 1952, in Century, FL; and has resided most of her life in Pineview. She was a member of Pineview Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Mrs. Johnson enjoyed sitting around watching Alabama football, westerns, and Hallmark Channel. She loved spending time with her family and traveling to the Smoky Mountains. She really liked to cook for family and friends, especially divinity, peanut brittle, pumpkin bread, and sweet potato pie.
She is preceded by her parents, Thomas Jefferson (Loucille Creamer) Peacock; one granddaughter, Julie Christina Bradley; one brother, James Peacock; and one sister, Mary Ellen Enfinger.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Henry Johnson, of Pineview, AL; one son, Eric (Leslie) Johnson, of Flomaton, AL; one daughter, Angie (Lavon) Bradley, of Flomaton, AL; one brother, Vernon (Clara) Peacock, of Atmore, AL; one sister, Marjorie (Buddy) Nelson, of Byrneville, FL; three grandchildren, Blake Johnson, Ashley Bradley, Nikki Flowers; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Flowers, Michael Flowers; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. June Katherine Godwin, age 78, passed away peacefully in Daphne, Alabama. She was a native of Little River, Alabama where she spent most of her life and resident of Bay Minette.
Mrs. Godwin enjoyed sewing, gardening both vegetable and flowers she liked watching all her plants grow. Watching Hallmark Channel, Wheel of Fortune, and Family Feud was a favorite thing to do to pass the time. She loved traveling with her husband to Mount Rushmore and from Kansas to the Carolinas. She really enjoyed spending time with her family and friends especially cooking for them.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bernard (Lillian Boone) Phillips; 3 brothers, Clayton Boone, Kenneth Boone, and John Boone.; 3 sisters, Melba Boone, Martha Holder, and Shirley Penter.
Mrs. Godwin is survived by her husband of 60 years, William Godwin of Bay Minette, Alabama; 2 sons, William Scott (Tammy) Godwin of Little River, Alabama, and Jason Godwin of Bay Minette, Alabama; 4 brothers, George Boone of Little River, Alabama, Leroy (Betty) Boone of Little River, Alabama, Bernard Boone, Jr. of Little River, Alabama, and Joesph Boone of Little River, Alabama; 3 sisters, Alma Woods of Atmore, Alabama, Donna (Richard) Harry of Virginia, and Deliah (Jim) Dinzeo of Virginia; 1 grandchild Emily Godwin of Little River, Alabama; 2 great-grand-children Raiden Risher and Emma Risher.

Lawrence Joseph Taite, age 60, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Santa Rosa Center for Rehabilitation and Healing after a hard-fought battle with diabetes and many complications. He was born in Pensacola, Florida to Narvie and Mable Taite on September 24, 1963. He attended school in Escambia County and graduated from J.M. Tate High School in 1981. He lived in Stone Mountain,
Georgia for 20 years before returning home to Quintette, Florida.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Narvie and Mable Taite; three sisters, Ruby Slater,Carter Ree Jackson, Bernice Brooks; four brothers, Willie Taite, Norvel Taite, James Taite, and Humphrey Taite.
He is survived by one brother, Benjamin (Ann) Taite of Mississippi; three sisters, Patricia Boykin, Gloria (Robert) Donald, Barbara Taite of Quintette, Florida; sister-in-law, Kim Taite of Malcomb, Illinois; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
Lawrence will be truly missed by many.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 29, 2024 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Melvin Taite officiating.
Lawrence will be laid to rest at Williams Cemetery in Cantonment, Florida.

Charles M. “Slow” Stanley, 87, who was born in Winterset, Iowa and lived in Pensacola, Florida, passed away on January 22, 2024.
He was retired military, 06 land survival instructor in the Navy. He loved playing golf and watching football with his sons. Charles was a Gator fan!! He enjoyed reading and writing as well as scrapbooking letters, notes and birthday cards to his loved ones. His favorite Bible verses were Proverbs 28:13 and Ecclesiastes chapter 12.
He is preceded in death by His three sons, Randy, Bill and Mike; his father, Lawrence Wayne Stanley; mother, Goldie M Hitsman and his sister, Betty Bird.
He is survived by his daughter, Theresa Kay Barrow; his granddaughter, Brandee Danielle Barrow; great-granddaughter, Kylee Danielle Clifford; his great grandson, Rowan Parker Blaine O’Brien; and his daughter-in-law, Paula.
A visitation will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 1:00pm until the service begins at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Cancer Research in remembrance of Charles Melvin Stanley.

Mrs. Jewell Presley Dockens of Booneville, AL. passed away January 19, 2024 in Lucedale, MS. She was born in Bay Minette, AL on July 19, 1939 to the late William “Pete” and Ida Mae Miller Presley. She was a homemaker most of her life and was a charter member of Lottie Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings William “Buddy” Presley, Ralph Presley, Ray Presley, Mary Milstead, Annie “Dee” Norton, Linda Faye Milstid and Ida Pearl Lofton.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years Lindsey Dockens. Her children Mike (Doris) Dockens; Darlene (Jeff) Taylor; David (Tereasa) Dockens; Chris (Daniela) Dockens; her brother, Rodger (Marilyn) Presley; eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 11 AM at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Presley Cemetery in Lottie, AL.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 10 AM until service time at 11 AM at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Douglas Wayne Gay, 81, of Molino, Florida, passed away on December 21, 2023, in Pensacola, FL. Born on July 24, 1942, Douglas served in the Air Force for 4 years and later retired from Monsanto after a dedicated career of 30 years.
Douglas was a man who loved music and always knew how to have a good time. In his spare time, he enjoyed following Florida State Football, watching Court TV, and fishing on the Escambia River. These hobbies brought him joy and relaxation throughout his life.
Doug is survived by his daughters, Renea Daniel and husband Mark, Kristie Faircloth and husband Steve; grandchildren, including Erica and her husband Caleb, Jasey and his wife Amber, Dustin and his wife Britney, Miranda and her significant other Charles, Amber and her husband Ronnie, Mark and his wife Samantha, and Austin. Doug was also blessed with several great-grandchildren, Jaestin, Kaestin, Laedin, Raena, Piper, Dean, Brightleigh, Wyatt, Walker, Braelynn, and Hope; and Doug’s loving siblings Darlene Moye, Shirley Hales, and Jerry Gay and wife Diane.
Douglas is preceded in death by his parents, Elon and Thelma Gay, as well as his siblings, Tony Gay, Donald Gay, Barbara Rawls.
Douglas Wayne Gay will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His legacy of dedication, love, and enjoyment of life will live on in their hearts.

Mr. James Michael Helms, age 78, of Atmore, Alabama passed away peacefully on January 21, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was a was born, October 26, 1945, in Brewton, AL; before moving to Atmore, AL. He retired as a truck driver with many years of service.
Mr. Helms was an avid Alabama Football and Atlanta Braves Baseball Fan who also enjoyed watching westerns and collecting coins. He was a hard worker, that loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed coaching baseball and softball through the years. He loved his chihuahua “Skip” that loved riding in his lap on the lawn mower.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Coy Dow (Ardie Lee McCurdy) Helms, daughter, Nannette Helms, and two sisters, Neva Glen Gomillion, Joyce Dean Farrish.
Mr. Helms is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carolyn Helms, of Canoe, AL; two sons, James Matthew Helms, of Canoe, AL; Joseph Bryan Helms, of Canoe, AL; one daughter, Tametha Spring Helms, of Canoe, AL; five grandchildren, Sebastian Helms, Anastasia helms, James Dorriety, Makayla Barlow, Franklin “Mikie” Helms, four great-grandchildren, Brantlee Dorriety, Lileigh Dorriety, Jaxen Barlow, Lakeland Barlow, a special niece, Jenifer Dykes, of Atmore, AL; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He retired from CSX Transportation with over 42 years of service as a Foreman. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Billy Roy Parker.
He is survived by his sons, Jake Parker of SC, Quinton “Squeaky” Parker of Atmore, AL and James West of Elmore County, AL; his daughter, Chyanne (Dylan) Johnson of Atmore, AL; his brothers, Mickey (Sue) Parker of Lakeview, AL and Mark Parker of Atmore, AL and his grandchildren, Jacob Elijah Parker, Jackson Christopher Parker, Evelyn Nicole Parker, Blake Lyne Johnson and George Johnson.
