Threat Of Severe Weather Increases For Tuesday

The potential for another round of severe weather has increased to enhanced (3 of 5) on Tuesday.
Damaging winds up to 70 mph, large hail and a fast moving tornadoes will be possible. Heavy rainfall may also lead to localized flooding concerns.

Tonight: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 62. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could be severe and produce heavy rainfall. High near 77. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Tate Grad Jordan Chase Torrez Competes On American Idol Sunday And Monday Nights

Tate High School graduate Jordan Chase Torrez is set to appear on American Idol Sunday and Monday nights.
On Sunday, he will find out who his duet partner will be for the duets challenge in Hollywood.
Torrez is a 2019 graduate of Tate High School.
American Idol airs locally from 7-9 p.m. both Sunday and Monday on WEAR 3.

Spring Festival of Flowers Continues Today In Milton

The 2022 Spring Festival of Flowers continues Sunday at the University of Florida West Florida Research and Education Center (WFREC) and Pensacola State College in Milton.
Admission is free for the event from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at 5988 Highway 90 in Milton. There are plant nursery vendors, a UF student club plant sale, arts and crafts, food and more.

The Annual Spring Fling Youth Summit will be held today from noon until 3 p.m. at Carver Park in Cantonment.

Gulf Coast Guard and Percussion Circuit Championship Is Saturday At Tate High School
April 1, 2022
Tate High School’s Showband of the South will host the Gulf Coast Guard and Percussion Circuit Championship Show on Saturday.
Ten percussion units and 31 color guard units are scheduled to perform. Tate’s very own indoor percussion unit kicks off the event at 10 a.m. The color guard competition begins at 2 p.m. with Tate’s Chaparrals set to perform at 3:49 pm.
Tickets are $12 each with free admission for children age five and younger and adults 65 and older. The event will take place in the Fryman gym located at 1771 Tate Road.

Severe Weather Expected Tonight; Gusty Winds Before The Storms

A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 A.M.
Severe weather is expected tonight across the North Escambia area with a rare 4 out of 5 chance.
A potent squall line is expected to move through the area through Wednesday night. Damaging winds in excess of 80 mph will be possible along with several fast moving tornadoes (some could be strong EF2 or greater). According to the National Weather Service, 80 mph winds can easily produce damage comparable to a tornado.
A wind advisory is in effect in advance of the storms. Sustained winds of 25-35mph with frequent gusts up to 50-55mph are expected. Loose articles should be secured and extreme caution will need to be taken on area bridges and overpasses. This is especially true for high profile vehicles and trailers. Over marine zones, a gale warning remains in effect.
