Howard Michael Fillingim

Howard Michael Fillingim, known to most as “Dago”, passed away after a lengthy illness, on Sunday, October 12, 2025. Howard was born June 27, 1944, to Howard Ellis (Burt) and Julia Fillingim, both of whom preceded him in death.

Howard is survived by his wife of 37 years, Deborah Lynn Fillingim and his beloved cat, Chewy. Howard and Lynn ran “Filly’s Produce” for 35 years. He was a United States Air Force veteran during the Vietnam era, but remained Stateside at Eglin Air Force Base.

A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date.

Frankie Lee Lewis, Jr.

Frankie Lee Lewis, Jr., 80, was bon in Enon, Florida on July 18, 1945 to Frankie Lewis, Sr. and Ruby King Lewis, and passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025 in Pensacola, Florida.

Frankie is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Rodger Dale Lewis.

Frankie was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving four years during the Vietnam War. Following his military service he worked and retired from Escambia County Utilities Authority. He enjoyed the outdoors while hunting and fishing for many years.

Frankie met Prather Ann Foster on a blind date and they were married within a month on April 29, 1978. They were married for over 47 years when the Lord called him home. Frankie accepted the Lord as his Savior as a teenager and after he and Ann married, they were members at Pine Haven Baptist Church. He helped with the youth there and went on several trips to summer youth camp, which he enjoyed very much. Through the Masonic Lodge, Frankie worked with the DeMolay organization, mentoring boys to become men of character. For the last twelve years Frankie and Ann were faithful members of Highland Baptist Church. Even through sickness, Frankie longed to be in church every Sunday.

Frankie is survived by his wife, Ann, son, Brandon Lewis and his wife Lucinda, daughter Courtney Lewis and her fiancé Eddie Akaba, grandson, Ross Ashworth, sisters Elisabeth Faulk and her husband, Ronnie, Sarah Figureid and her husband Eddie, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to especially thank Sarah Owens, Robert Kennedy, Jerry Mcgaughey, and Scott Richardson that helped in our time of need.

Funeral Services for Frankie will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens on Saturday, October 11th with visitation for friends at 1:00 p.m. and the service at 2:00 p.m. Graveside will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

Bro. Josh Helton of Highland Baptist Church will officiate the service.

Serving as pallbearers are Brandon and Lucinda Lewis, Eddie Akaba, Tyler Ashworth, David Kerns, Jerry Mcgaughey, and Scott Richardson.

Kevin Dee Cardwell

Kevin Dee Cardwell, born November 23, 1962, in Denver, Colorado, peacefully went home to the Lord on October 8, 2025, at his home in Atmore, Alabama.

Kevin is the beloved son of Robert and Dixie Cardwell. Kevin is survived by his devoted wife, Diana Graczyk, his loving daughter, Madison Small, and her husband, Matthew Small. Kevin is a proud Papa to Avelynn Small, Lucas Small, and Charlotte Kinghorn.

Kevin is also survived by his brother, Kenneth Cardwell.

Kevin is a man of great heart, determination, and skill. He has a lifelong passion for working on cars, trucks, and motorcycles—there was never a machine he couldn’t bring back to life. When Kevin wasn’t in the garage, you could find him tending his home, garden, or enjoying the outdoors, where he felt closest to peace. Known for his strong will and even stronger love for his family, Kevin was rarely seen
without a smile—and often with a Coors beer in hand. His humor, warmth, and unwavering spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Kevin’s memory will live on through the countless lives he touched, the projects he completed with care, and the family he cherished so deeply.

There are no formal services for Kevin at this time.

Sarah Daugette, 84, of Milton, Florida, passed away October 6, 2025. She was born in Molino, Florida on January 22, 1941 to Dewey and Sara Hart. She was married to Raymond Daugette for 63 years.

Sarah Daugette worked for Boeing Company for 15 years and Taylor Hospital for 6 years. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and had a passion for gardening, housekeeping, and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Sara Hart; sister, Gayle Barrow; brother, Ronnie Hart; grandson, Alex Hall.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Daugette; sons, Danny Hall, David (Rhonda) Daugette, and Donald (Laura) Daugette; grandchildren, Ashley (Tim) McMahon, Devan (Amber) Daugette, Kaitlyn Baldridge, Jenna Daugette, Allison Baldridge, Christoph Hall, Nicole Baldridge, and Dawson Daugette; great-grandchildren, Eleanor McMahon, Fiona McMahon, Thadeus McMahon, Ellory Baldridge and Weston Townsend; siblings, Harold Hart, Judy (Roy) Barton, Brenda (Mike) Coker, Dewey Hart, and Wanda Vanlandingham.

Funeral services are to be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 6915 US 29, Molino, Florida on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. with service at 11 a.m. Fellowship will follow.

Mrs. Megan Kristin Coyne, age 39, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025.

Mrs. Coyne was born in Pensacola, Florida, and has been a lifelong resident of Escambia County Florida. Megan enjoyed listening to music and hanging out with her friends. She loved to plan parties of all kinds. She attended all family events. Megan was the greatest mother to her children. She adored and loved them very much. Mrs. Megan is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather – Alvin Smith; paternal grandmother – Hazel Smith; maternal grandfather – Wilson H. Levins; maternal grandmother – Vera Levins Presley; cousin – Blake Croley.

She is survived by her father – Mervin R. Smith of Byrneville, FL.; mother – Henrietta Mae Williams – Damascus; two sons – Dalton Wolfe of Jay, FL. and Alston Wolfe of Kentucky; one brother – Marc (Angel) Smith of Byrneville, FL.; two sisters – Brenda Parrish of Starke, FL. and Morgan (Andrew) Evans of Brewton, AL.

Funeral service will be held Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Byrneville Community Church with Bro. Fred Stallworth and Bro. Steve Yuhaz officiating. Interment will be in the Byrneville Community Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Byrneville Community Church.

Donald “Don” R. Vachon, Sr., 84, of Molino, Florida, passed away October 04, 2025. He was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on February 21, 1941 to the late George Renee Vachon and Eva Marie Russeau Vachon. Don had a career as a professional truck driver and had a passion for home improvement projects.

He was a member of Pugh’s Chapel and had a passion for home improvement.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Rebecca Poston Vachon; son, Leslie Poston; grandchild, RJ Vachon; sister, Arlene Gordon; and parents.

He is survived by his sons, Doug (Julie) Vachon, Rick (Serena) Vachon, Kenneth (Tabitha) Poston, Greg Poston, and Doug Poston; daughters, Denise McCaughan and Dawn Ramirez; grandchildren, Tanya Walker, Hunter Poston, Joshua (Lee Anne) Poston, Sara Poston, Brittanie (Nate) Hicks, Megan (RJ) Moye, Misty (Troy) Woodruff, Casey Vachon, Andrew Vachon, and Martin (Jen) Vachon; brother, George R (Peg) Vachon; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Alton L. Killam

Alton L. Killam, 88, of Bratt, FL, passed away on October 4, 2025, in Pensacola, FL. He was born on June 11, 1937 in Century, FL, to Arthur Killam and Ruby Wasden Killam. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and retired from Monsanto. He also served our country in the Army and the Army National Guard. He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 65 years, Lillie Brooks Killam, and his daughter, Tammy Ann Martin.

He is survived by his son, Tony Killam of Bratt, FL; grandchildren, David Hawkins, Kara Hawkins, Nikolaus Salter, Shana Killam; nine great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Matt Brown officiating. Internment will follow in Godwin Cemetery in Bratt, FL.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. until service time at 12:30 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore, AL.

William ‘Billy’ Alexander Arnold Sr.

William “Billy” Alexander Arnold Sr., 92, of Gonzalez, Florid,a passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, surrounded by his family. Billy was born on April 19, 1933, in Gonzalez, Florida, to John Albert Arnold and Anna Mueller. Billy will be remembered most for his gentle heart, contagious smile, dedication to his trade, and devotion to his faith and family. Billy found joy in raising his boys, playing with his grandchildren, fishing, farming, and football. Billy graduated from Tate High School and attended Murray State University in Kentucky until he was drafted by the Army for the Korean War. After returning home from the war, Billy went to work for Westinghouse where he retired after 30 years. Billy spent his retirement doing all the things he loved with his family.

Billy leaves behind Vivian Arnold, his wife of 66 years; his two sons, Tommy (Kim) Arnold and Bill Arnold (Sommer Holt); as well as Lisa (Mike) Barnes; his grandchildren, Courtney Arnold (Branden Farmer), Blain (Rachel) Arnold, Emily Arnold (Trent Parker), Austin Holt (Makayla Thomas), and Kensly Holt; his great-grandchildren, Brantley Arnold and Haisley Holt, his brother, M.J. Arnold; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. Billy is preceded in death by his mother, Anna Mueller; father, John Albert Arnold; and seven siblings.

A celebration of Billy’s life will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Faith Chapel North in Gonzalez, Florida. Family and friends are invited to gather at 1 0pm for visitation, with services starting at 2 pm, followed by a committal service at Lathram Chapel. Serving as Pallbearers are Blain Arnold, Branden Farmer, Trent Parker, Austin Holt, Ronnie Williams, and Mike Barnes. Honorary Pallbearers are Brantley Arnold, Mike Camp, Randy Hensel, and Mike Glenn.

Billy has gone home to be with the Lord, and we find comfort knowing that he is now at peace in God’s hands until we meet again. Billy will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Tammy Hodge, born in Atmore, Alabama, and a long-time resident of North Escambia County, Florida, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 2, 2025, surrounded by her family. She lived her life with a steadfast faith in God and a deep love for her family. Tammy’s gentle spirit, compassion for others, and devotion to Christ touched all who knew her.

A devout church volunteer, Tammy dedicated countless hours to serving her church and community. Her heart for helping others was recognized in 1987 when she was honored as a Florida School Volunteer of the Year Finalist—a testament to her servant’s heart and commitment to making a difference in the lives of children and families.

Tammy was first married to Gerald Bell, with whom she shared the blessing of children. She later married Aaron Hodge, who preceded her in death, and with whom she shared many years of love and companionship.

She is survived by her mother Nancy Neal, her children: Christal Bell-Rivera (Ronnie), Naomi Conner (Tim), and Jeremiah Hodge (Katie), and her grandchildren: Angel Mitchell, Mallory Bell-Rivera, Taylor Smith (Charlie), Lucas Hodge, Hannah Conner, Avery Hodge, Mylo Hodge, and Micah Hodge.

She was preceded in death by her father Wallace Reid, stepmother Mattie Reid, her beloved son Christopher Bell, and her brother Ricky Pritchett.

Tammy also leaves behind her brothers Joe Reid (Myra), Steve Reid (Melissa), Glen Reid (Tammy), and Lonnie Purvis; and her sisters Claudia Turberville (Richard “PeeWee”), Margaret Jackson, Elanie Purvis, Regina Purvis, Robin Salter, Joy Simpson (Darrel), and Amanda Merritt (James).

Tammy’s life was a reflection of Proverbs 31:28— “Her children arise up and call her blessed.” Her faith, kindness, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Serving as pallbearers will be BJ Reid, Johnathan Holland, Travis Holland, Al Capitell, Kevin Smith, and Jamie Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons Mylo Hodge and Micah Hodge.

Funeral Services

A Homegoing Celebration for Tammy will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Flomaton Funeral Home, with Brother Eric Johnson officiating. Family visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m., followed by public visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m., with burial to follow at Beulah Chapel Assembly of God.
