Carroll James Jensen

February 1, 2024

Carroll James Jensen, 92, passed away on January 9, 2024, in Pensacola, Florida, after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his elder daughter, Pamela Turner, and his beloved wife, Pat. Carroll is survived by daughter, Lisa (Tom) Tingley; granddaughters, Melisa (Chad) Alvarez, Lena (Gary) Adams, and Michelle Tingley; and great granddaughters, Brooklyn Woodside and Halle Kate Alvarez. Carroll’s family was a source of both pride and comfort through the years, and he cherished his time spent with them.

The only son of the late Everett Hans Jensen and Frances May Applegate, Carroll grew up learning farming from his father, who passed away when Carroll was just 13 years old. Upon his father’s passing, Carroll took on the responsibilities of the farm with help from family and friends. He later enlisted in the Air Force and became a well-respected aircraft mechanic. After his time in the Air Force, he contemplated returning to farming in Nebraska, but found his future working for the Department of Defense as a civilian at the Naval Aircraft Rework Facility (NARF) at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida. Carroll excelled in his role as an aircraft mechanic/electrician, and was well respected in this field that he loved. His talent and dedication were recognized throughout his career, and he loved sharing stories related to his many experiences. Other roles in which he excelled and found great enjoyment included that of drag car racing and inventing. Carroll loved finding mechanical solutions to life’s problems and inconveniences, and we all benefited from his creative thinking and mechanical skills! Carroll always had a smile and a calming influence to his family. He was simply the best Dad, Paw-Paw, Grandpa, and Pop to us!

He married the love of his life, Patricia Grantham, on November 20, 1955. When Pat died in June, 2023, they had been married over 67 years. Their sixty-seven-year love story of commitment to one another and to their family has been a wonderful inspiration to all of us. While we cannot believe that Mom, followed by Dad so soon, are gone, we are comforted that they are reunited with one another and with beloved family members who preceded them.

Please join us in remembering Carroll at a Memorial Service on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 1:00 pm (visitation from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm) at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, 1000 S. Highway 29, Cantonment, Florida 32533.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Carroll’s memory with a donation to a charity of your choice.
