Donald (Donnie) Clarence Nolin

Donald (Donnie) Clarence Nolin died unexpectedly on June 19, 2025, at Century Rehab Center. He was 71 years old. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death. Donnie was born on April 7, 1954. Donnie loved life, loved his family, loved people and loved his work.

Donnie is survived and missed by his loving wife Brenda of 52 years; and his children and their spouses, Chris and Terra Pierce, Scottie and Alice Stewart, and Donald E. Nolin. Forever cherished and remembered by his eight grandchildren, Dawson, Reagan, Brody, Jordan, Hunter, Finn, Isaac, and Gracelynn.

Donnie was predeceased by his father, A.N. and his mother, Joy Jean Nolin.

He was born in Pennsylvania and grew up in Flomaton, AL where he eventually met his wife. Some of his greatest joys came from spending time with his family. They created many memories gathering to grill, trips to the creek, and hunting with his son. He always had treats reserved for his grandchildren in a paper bag, handy snacks and even ice cream.

Donnie had one profession throughout his life as a welder and took great pride and care in his work. For nearly forty-two years, he worked locally and even out of state providing for his family.

Donnie enjoyed watching Alabama football with his wife and was an avid Roll Tide fan. He could be seen on game days with his houndstooth hat.

Donnie was such a kind man with a servant’s heart and did everything with honesty and integrity. He had very strong values, believed in helping others, and was well liked by everyone, mostly due to his big heart.

There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to our family and friends who were there for us in this difficult time of need. Also a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Century Rehab who were with us in the passing of a loved husband, father and friend.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Flomaton Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 10 a.m. with speakers Mr. Ronnie Freeman and Mr. Carl Jackson.

Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. service time.

Rufus Burch

Rufus Burch, age 67, passed away at his residence on June 17, 2025.

Mr. Rufus was born in Atmore, Alabama and has been a lifelong resident of Escambia County Alabama. He was an avid Trump supporter. Mr. Burch loved his family, loved to fish, watch family feud, and listen to country music. He loved to work all the time. He is preceded in death by his parents – Albert & Ola Burch; brothers – Douglas Burch, Clarence Burch, and Albert Burch Jr.; sister – Debra Kay Burch; Mother and father n law – Doris and Leon Graves; brother n law – Lee Graves.

Mr. Rufus Burch is survived by his wife of 47 years Mrs. Dorie Graves Burch; daughter – Loren Lee Burch of Michigan; brothers – Fred (Loree) Burch of Castleberry, Kenny Burch of Satsuma, Jesse (Cindy) Burch of Brewton, David Burch of Brewton; sisters – Sally Blackwell – Brewton, Dot (Elbert) Turberville of Excel, Carolyn Presley of Atmore, Lisa Pontiff of Panama City, FL, and Sue Baby Burch of Brewton.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 10:00 am from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Carnley officiating. Interment will follow at the Hartwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 20, 2025, from 6Pm until 8:00 PM at the Craver’s Funeral Home Chapel.

Eleanor G. Settle

Eleanor G. Settle, 91, of Molino, Florida, passed away June 19, 2025. She was born in Pensacola on December 28, 1933, to Ernie and Annie Settle. She had a career in accounting, working for the Courthouse in Brewton, Alabama, St. Regis, and the University of West Florida; retiring after 25 years.

She was a member of Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church and had a passion for flowers and reading.

Eleanor is survived by her brothers, Ernest Settle, Robert Settle, and Jimmy Settle; sister, Sue A. Stallman; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and Cemetery, 3015 St. Elizabeth Drive, Molino.

Mark Peter Scott

Mark Peter Scott, age 62, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Pensacola, Florida, on May 31, 2025.

Born on December 20, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, Mark was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. He spent his life devoted to the people he loved, especially his wife, Patricia (Patty). The two met as teenagers, began dating soon after, and never looked back—recently celebrating 39 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family.

Mark was the proud father of his daughter, Christine, and his son, Ryan. To his family, he was their rock—the one they turned to for comfort, strength, and warmth. His laugh was one of a kind, his hugs made the world feel safe, and his presence brought a sense of peace that will be deeply missed.

Professionally, Mark dedicated over 29 years to serving the Pensacola community as a highly respected Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Disorders physician. His passion for medicine was matched only by his compassion for people, and he touched countless lives through his work.

Outside of medicine, Mark lived with curiosity and joy. He was a loyal Florida Gators fan, a Parrothead, an avid photographer, a traveler at heart, and a lover of birds and all things sea-related. Whether he was crafting a homemade tiki cocktail, listening to Jimmy Buffett, or watching a sunset on the water, Mark embraced the moments that made life sweet.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patty; his children, Christine (Michael) Paulzak and Ryan (Stihlyn) Scott; his cherished grandson, Leo; his mother, Sue Ellen Scott; his siblings, Jacqueline Borello, Steven Scott, and Jeffrey Scott; and many nieces, nephews, lifelong friends, and colleagues who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

“So, when the journey gets long, just know that you are loved, there is light up above, and the joy is always enough. Bubbles up, Mark, bubbles up.”

Family and friends are welcome to join in remembering and honoring Mark’s life. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, located at 1000 S Hwy 29, Cantonment, FL 32533.

James Edward Salter

James Edward Salter, 95, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away June 13, 2025. He was born in Conecuh, Alabama on July 27, 1929, to Buck and Ruby Salter. He was married to the love of his life Betty Jane Salter for 74 years. He retired from Bellsouth and volunteered his time with Habitat for Humanity and Manna Food Bank. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Buck and Ruby Salter, his brother George Salter, and his daughter Jane Wheat.

He is survived by his daughter Gail (David) Ewing and son-in-law Don Wheat. His grandchildren are James (Ashley) Wheat, Joy (Jim) Baker, Nathan (Ruth Janna) Wheat, Ruth Lang, Tally (Roger) Hawthorne, Jamie (Devin) Reed, Anderson Ewing, Kelly (Thomas) Derbes. His great grandchildren are Anna and Isaac Wheat; Lily, Emily, Macy, Kingston, and Kathryn Baker; John Sinclair, Janna Rose, Ian, Caelia Wheat, Benjamin, Jillian, Samuel, and Vivienne Lang; Buck, Rory, and Hank Hawthorne; and Robert Matthew, Baylee and Colby Reed.

The family would like to thank Kyrstal Gomez and Jessica Thompson from Gentiva Hospice and Brookdale Senior Living for their wonderful care and love for James.

The family will have a private ceremony at a later date and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church and Brookdale Senior Living.

Virginia M. Lambert

Virginia M. Lambert, age 100, of Atmore, AL, passed away at her residence on June 11, 2025. Virginia was born to Noah Britton and Essie Ellington McKeehan in Raleigh, NC, on June 4, 1925.

Virginia and her husband, Jake, owned Lambert’s Grocery Store. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Atmore. She retired from the Utilities Board of Atmore. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jake Lambert; her daughter, Patsy Lambert Robinson; her two sisters, Sara and Gladys, her brother, Nevell McKeehan; her brothers and sisters in law, Joe and Catherine Lambert, Hiram and Barbara Cook.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Ronnie) Johnson of Atmore, AL; her grandson, Rod (Heather) Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Ryan (Randa) Johnson, Christopher Johnson, and Carley Johnson, and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Richie Nobles officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Clara Ranae Brown Blitch (81) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, of natural causes.

Born in northern Georgia on April 15, 1944. Ranae was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and a Christian of great faith. She was a lifelong and dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a

graduate of Pasco County High School in Dade City, Florida.

She touched the lives of many with her warm smile, generous spirit, and kindness. Ranae was known as someone that would always give a hug and engage in conversation. Not one to beat around the bush, Ranae was genuine and forthright. You always knew where you stood with her. She leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories.

A devoted volunteer with the Special Olympics and a member in good standing of the Perry Women’s Club and the Rubies Red Hats. Ranae loved the companionship and friendship of her family and friends. She found joy in dedicating herself to helping others, attending church and always, always being there for her children, grandkids, and great grandchildren.

She will be remembered for her humor, hugs, resilience, generosity and straight forwardness.

She was preceded in death by her parents Willian M. (Bill)l Brown and Tottie Redifer Brown, her husband Charles Wayne Blitch, her son Charles Elliot Blitch, her sister, Doris Llewellyn Bucker, Brothers: William Pope Brown, Wayne Michael Brown, David Lamont Brown, Jacob Wilson Brown and Richard Cary Brown.

Ranae is survived by her daughter, Terrie Lyne Blitch Parker, her beloved son in law, Thomas (Pee Wee) Parker, her grandson Thomas Allen Parker, his wife Sammie Jean Sadler Parker, their Children, Mason Allen Parker, Hunter Kane Parker and Charlee Hope Sullivan of Mayo, FL, her grandson Christopher Perry Parker of Perry, and brothers Henry Larry Brown, his wife, Sunnina Brown of Madison, FL and brother, Jack Redifer Brown, his wife, Ursula Brown of Molino, FL, as well as, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Ranae’s life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Bell Cemetery, 3429 Cemetery Road, Bell, FL 32619 at 10am (EST). President Brad Lee will conduct the services. A drop by reception will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 pm (EST), at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1566 West Julia Street, Perry, Florida 32347. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Perry Women’s Club.

Though she will be deeply missed, her light and love remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Joseph Alan Phillips

September 17, 1949 – June 10, 2025

Joseph Alan Phillips passed away on June 10th at his home in Atmore, Alabama, surrounded by his family.

Joe grew up in a farming family, and his love of the smell of the dirt, farming, and harvesting crops never left him. Joe worked on the farm through his teen years. After he married, Joe began working for Liberty National Life Insurance Company, where he remained for almost 25 years. After encountering some health issues, he decided to join Meyer Real Estate in Gulf Shores and worked for 10 years until health issues forced an early retirement. His love of people and the gift of talking to anyone and everyone suited him well in his sales career, and he remained friends with many of his customers even after his retirement.

Some of his best years were spent with his family and friends at Fort Morgan, Alabama. His greatest joy was watching his grandchildren enjoy the area that he and his sons had enjoyed as children. He thought there was nothing better than watching his sons catch mullet, having a fish fry with family, friends, and neighbors later that afternoon, and enjoying the beautiful sunset over the Bay.

Joe loved his family. He and Becky celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on June 9th. He loved being with his sons, their families, and their friends. He was honored that their friends called him Pop. Joe told everyone he met about his grandchildren, how much he loved them, and how proud he was of them. Even on his worst days, just the sight of his grandchildren brought joy to his heart and a smile on his face.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey L. and Glenda Mildred Phillips, his sister, Joyce Phillips Sellers, and his brother, William Harvey (Bill) Phillips.

Joe is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Becky) Sellers Phillips; sons Jonathon Alan (Tracie) Phillips and Jarard Burton (Ashley) Phillips; grandchildren Piper Isabella Phillips, Sutton Hayes Phillips, Briggs Burton Phillips, Madison (Trae) Hall, Alexus (Hunter) Hanson, Mercedes (Aaron) Rupe, and Tryton Watson; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara (Wayne) Harrison.

Joe was a member of Shell Banks Baptist Church at Fort Morgan, Alabama, and loved his Church family.

A Celebration of Life will be held from the chapel of Johnson Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore, Alabama, on Saturday, June 14th at 11:00 a.m. Family will receive friends at Johnson Quimby from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Atmore, Alabama. The service will be officiated by Bro. Don Melton and Rev. John Ballard.

Pastor Ricky Peebles, of Davisville, Florida, who was 66 years old, passed away on June 7, 2025, in Pensacola, Florida. Born in Atmore, Alabama, he spent most of his life in Bratt, Florida, where he touched many lives with his kindness and faith. His dedication to the community and his gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.

He was a dedicated pastor for more than fifty years, always ready to help with projects around the church and community. His love for the outdoors shone through in his passion for hunting and fishing. Alongside this, he enjoyed gunsmithing and locksmithing, showcasing his practical skills. He enjoyed playing the piano and guitar, often sharing his music through singing. For seventeen years, he worked at Bondurant Lumber and Hardware, where he made lasting connections. In his free time, he loved watching westerns, spending time with his cherished pets—especially his dog BJ—and delighting in moments with his grandchildren, who brought him great joy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilborn and Dorothy Gunn Peebles; wife, Donna Peebles; son Robert Jarrod Peebles.

He is survived by his loving wife of fourteen years, Becka Peebles of Davisville, Florida; son Jason and wife Jennifer Peebles of Walnut Hill, Florida; three brothers, Roger and wife Rene’ Peebles of McCullough, Alabama, Randall and wife Cindy Peebles of Bratt, Florida and Ronald and wife Darlene Peebles of Bratt, Florida; five grandchildren, Liberty Peebles, Gabbie Peebles Zisa, Memory Peebles Spruill, Dakota Peebles and Becca Peebles; two great-grandchildren, Stormy, Riverlyee, and two on the way; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Paul Zane Lundy, who was 78 years old, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in Pensacola, Florida. He was originally from Semirah Springs, Alabama, but spent most of his life in Atmore, Alabama. Mr. Lundy was a member of the Semirah Springs Freewill Baptist Church and took great pride in being a part of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. His life touched many, and he will be remembered fondly by his family and friends.

He loved to play music, especially picking up his guitar and writing songs. Recording his music brought him joy, as did spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandbabies. He found happiness in riding horses, fishing, and going out on the boat. Always ready to help, he was the kind of person who would give to anyone in need. His passions and kindness painted a beautiful picture of a life filled with love and adventure.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gaylord and Juanita Dees Lundy; son, Randall Reese Lundy; brother, Willie Gay Lundy; sister, Pug Hollinger.
