Mrs. Margie Dee Johnson, age 86, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022 at her Century, Florida residence.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Bluff Springs, FL and had been a life-long resident of the Century area. She worked as a Respiratory Therapist at Century Hospital and was a member of Beulah Chapel Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Harvey Johnson; her parents, Corbett and Ila Dee White; a sister, Lorelle Van Rossum; and a great-grandson, Tyler David Palmer.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne (Marie) Johnson of Baker, FL and Gary (Polly) Johnson of Byrneville, FL; special nieces, Karen Cash of Flomaton, AL and Donna (BJ) Jernigan of Cantonment, FL; four grandchildren, Jessie Dixon, Jennifer (Heath) Wilson, Denise (Shannon) Palmer, Pam (Julian) Perez; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. Beulah Chapel Assembly of God with Bro. Tim Floyd and Bro. Ray Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Beulah Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Flomaton Funeral Home from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Tuesday.

Wesley “Dawson” Stanaland, Jr.

Wesley “Dawson” Stanaland, Jr., 63, passed away on October 9, 2022.
Dawson was born on October 14, 1958, to Wesley Dawson Stanaland, Sr. and Bonita Rose Bell Stanaland in Perry, FL.
Dawson met the love of his life Bernadine Goff on November 13, 1977, and it was love at first sight. They were married June 24, 1978, going on to have two daughters: Christina, and Liza. In 1989 while in Active-Duty Army National Guard he moved his family to Pace, FL where he lived until the time of his death.
Staff Sergeant Wesley Dawson Stanaland, Jr was a proud ten-year veteran of the Army National Guard serving his time on active-duty status. He loved his county and his rights.
Before his Military service Dawson worked for CSX Railroad for ten years. Dawson was a jack of all trades, from Phlebotomist, Ultrasound Tech, Owner of Pace Marine where he was a boat mechanic for many years, and most recently, the owner of Home Defense Firearms. He was incredibly patriotic and loved his family more than anything else. He also loved his blue grass music and playing his banjo on occasion.
Dawson was of the Primitive Baptist Faith. He was very active his churches as he was the pastor of Little Flock in Molino, FL., Spring Hill in Flomaton, AL., and was serving his 22nd year at Pilgrim’s Rest in Jackson, AL.
Dawson was preceded in death by his brother Jesse Stanaland and his father Wesley Stanaland, Sr., and his father-in-law Dallas Goff.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Bernadine, his daughters Christina Stanaland Tereszkiewicz (Josh) and Liza Stanaland (Bobby), his grandchildren Cooper Bodie, Meeya “Termite” Gonzalez, Dominic Gonzalez, Lucas Gonzales, Savannah Sanchez, Jeremy Sanchez, Robert Sanchez, and Justin Sanchez, his brothers JC Stanaland (Sarah) and Benjamin David Stanaland, his sister Teresa Godwin (Charles), his mother Bonnie, His Brother-in-Law’s Don Goff and David Goff (Lynn) He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, a big family and a world of friends and his best friend “Brody.”
Family will receive friends at Faith Chapel North at 1000 Hwy 29, Cantonment, Florida,on Tuesday evening October 12, 2022, from 5-7 p.m.. Funeral Services on Wednesday morning October 13, 2022,, at 10:30 a.m.. Burial will follow at Bagdad Cemetery. Milton Florida.
Thomas Benton Qualls

Mr. Thomas Benton Qualls, age 93, passed away, Saturday, October 8, 2022, peacefully at his home surrounded by family. He was a lifelong resident of Atmore, Al. and a member of Unity Baptist Church. He proudly served in the United States Army for many years. He retired from Monsanto with 25 years of service. After retiring he went to work with SAV/Pepsi for many years, and worked the fields for Boll Weevils.
Mr. Qualls enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a very loving and dedicated husband to his wife, Gladys for 44 years. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing. He always loved tending and caring for “all the babies” rather at church are anywhere, “he just had that love for Babies.” He was a very devoted Christian and a man of God.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Sidney (Vergie Vera Whidbee) Qualls, wife of 44 years, Gladys Powell Qualls, one son, Thomas Evans Qualls, one brother, James McCoy Qualls, and one sister, Bobbie Lee Holland.
He is survived by his one son, John “JJ” Hansen, of Mobile, AL; three daughters, Brenda “June” (Tom) McClendon, of McDavid, FL; Deborah “Debbie” (Sean) Dimond, of Red Level, AL; Lisa (Kenny) Rolin, of Atmore, AL; thirteen grandchildren, twenty- two great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, two great-great-great- grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 16, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Unity Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Long, and Rev. Rickey Tedder officiating.
Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 1 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church.
Tommie Holland Cawthon

Tommie Holland Cawthon passed away peacefully at his home with his grandson by his side. He was an avid racer and spent most Saturdays at Southern Raceway and the Down to Earth Mud Track. He was a natural born mechanic, and has forgotten more than most people would ever know about automobiles.
Tommie was a great father and grandfather. He will be missed by his family and great Racetrack family. He was the most genuine and down to earth, non-judgmental, sweetheart of a person that anyone could ever meet.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Estelle Coleman, his wife, Linda Cawthon, his sister Shirley Roper and her husband Lamar, his brother, Wayne Cawthon and his wife Dee, and his brother Ronnie Cawthon Sr.
He is survived by his two daughters, Ruby Ravae Mayhair (Chris), Robin Gerich, four grandchildren, Daiva Smith (Darren), Lexxie Ethridge, Tommy Wayne Mayhair, and Christopher Glenn, who is on the way, his great grandson, Christopher Smith, his brother, Rickey Cawthon, his two sisters, Rosie Pettit and Dorothy Eccles, and a host of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Peggy Delores Sweeney Bell

Peggy Delores Sweeney Bell, 68, of Flomaton, AL, born on December 7, 1953 in Milton, FL, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL.
Peggy was a homemaker, outstanding baker, cook and enjoyed developing new recipes which she freely shared with others. Enjoyed planting flowers, fishing in the lake on the family property, playing with her grandchildren and always there for her family and numerous friends. Many called her Mom and Granny even though they weren’t related.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Patrick Bell; parents, Howard and Lois Sweeney; sister, Connie Sweeney Kelley; paternal grandparents, Lee G. and Ruth F. Sweeney; and maternal grandparents, Mallie E. and Annie J. Barnard.
Peggy is survived by two sons, Terry Sheffield of East Brewton, AL, Christopher Bell of Flomaton, AL; and a daughter, Christina Bell of Pensacola, FL; one great-grandson; sisters, Janette Yeryar (Jeff) of Garcon Point, FL, Vivian Hall (Michael) of Bagdad, FL, Barbara Jean Hobbs (Eddie) of Anderson, MO; and brother, Ray Sweeney (Sherry) of Garcon Point, FL; six grandsons, Clint, Justin, Connor, Jake, Nale Sheffield and Hunter Bell; brother-in-law Benny Bell, sister-in-law Marilyn Holt; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ruth Ann Attkisson McCormick

Ruth Ann Attkisson McCormick was born March 3, 1936 in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.
She graduated from Haylong High School in 1954, and then moved to Nashville andworked for National Life. While in Nashville Ruth met and married her beloved Charles (Chuck) Henry McCormick on May 26, 1957. Together they had one son, Charles Terrance (Terry) McCormick. Ruth Ann gave 32 years to the Department of Defense as a Supervisory Accounting Tech in the Civil Service. She was a member of Pine Forest UMC where she shared a pew for many years with her best friend Gwen Webb. Throughout her years she enjoyed crafting, sewing, painting, gardening and baking. She enjoyed collecting and especially loved to read books and talk to her
friends.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents Ulner Clyde Attkisson and Annie Esterleen Goodwin Attkisson Hill, her siblings, Dorothy Clyde Attkisson Bush, Nathan Hale Attkisson and Robert Earl Attkisson.
Ruth is survived by her husband of
65 years Charles (Chuck) Henry McCormick, son Charles Terrance (Terry) McCormick (Alicia), two granddaughters, Pamela Ann McCormick Williams (Jason) and Ashley Lynn McCormick, as well as three great grandchildren, McKenzie Ann Williams, Reagan Alice Williams and Nolan McCormick Williams.

Mrs. Mary Gene Conway, age 91, passed away, Monday, October 3, 2022 in Atmore, AL. She resided in Canoe for most of her life where she opened her home as a sitter for many children throughout the years. Mrs. Conway considered them to be part of her family.
Mrs. Conway enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and watching them play sports. She enjoyed watching Alabama Football and the Atlanta Braves. She also loved catching and eating White Perch.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James “John” Conway; her son, Douglas Conway; her
parents, Otis and Jessie Ray; six brothers, Arthor Lee Ray, Johnnie Frank Ray, Marvin Ray, Willis Ray, Sam Ray, Milton Ray, and sister, Lettie Jane (Ray) Childress.
She is survived by her son, James (Mary) Conway, of Molino, FL; two daughters, Wanda Lee, of ColeRain, NC and Linda Conway, of Stockton, AL; thirteen grandchildren, Becky (James) Faberman, Robin Kyzer, Zack (Jessie) Conway, Shannon Riley, AJ DeLancey, Kristy (Jason) Hane, Katelynn (Bruce) Wise, Jason (Beth) Thomas, Amber (Josh) Sheffield, AnnahMarie (Bo) White, Johnathon (Diana) Conway, Ashley (Adam) Edwards, David (Stephanie) Harris, and thirty-five Great Grandchildren.

Mary Jane Flowers, Nana to her grandchildren for the last 20 years, passed away on September 30, 2022 at the age of 72. She was born in Travelors Rest, South Carolina to the late Cecil Brown and Dorthea Ard Brown. Mary worked in the insurance business for over 25 years. She was a faithful member of Pace Assembly of God Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers-in-law, Jack McDuffie and Bill Byars.
Mary is survived by her husband of 52 years, James L. Flowers; daughter, Melissa (Jason) Comans; grandchildren, Jay Comans and Joel Comans; sisters, Doris McDuffie and Sarah Byars; and several extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Pastor Randall Hamil and Bro. Darrell Eubanks officiating.
The family will receive friends at 10AM prior to services.

Robert Elliott Harvey

Robert Elliott Harvey, long time resident of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at the age of 88. He was born in Westerly, Rhode Island, on September 14, 1934, to James and Alice Harvey. Robert served as a Seaman in the United States Navy and enjoyed a 40 year career as a supervisor at Monsanto/Solutia. He married the love of his life, Marie, on March 10, 1962, and they spent 60 incredible years together. Robert, or simply “Bob” to those who knew him well, had a lifelong love of fishing and found great joy in traveling and golfing with friends and family. He loved his country and his community. He was immensely proud of his military service and delighted in recounting his experiences aboard submarines during the Korean War. He was a husband, a father, a grandfather, a teacher, a friend, a rock. He will be deeply missed and forever loved. Robert is preceded in death by his father, James H Harvey; his mother, Alice E Harvey; his brother, James H Harvey Jr.; and his sister, Constance A Engle. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Marie Harvey; his children, Robert Harvey Jr., Kim Cristofoletti, and Ronald Harvey; and his grandchildren, Joshua Harvey, Haley Harvey, Peyton Cristofoletti, and Spencer Cristofoletti.
